Job Description
Product Design \& Development
Develop and modify electronic circuits, schematics, PCB layouts, and product designs for inverter, solar, hybrid, and related power\-electronics products.
Support design of power stages, control circuits, sensing circuits, gate\-drive circuits, protection circuits, and auxiliary power supplies as applicable.
Select suitable components based on electrical ratings, reliability, availability, cost, and approved specifications.
Prepare and maintain design calculations, circuit diagrams, BOMs, technical specifications, and engineering change records.
Prototype Development \& Testing
Build or coordinate prototype assembly and conduct functional testing, performance testing, and design verification.
Test products under defined operating conditions, including input/output voltage, load variation, temperature, efficiency, charging/discharging, and backup performance as applicable.
Evaluate product operation with relevant battery types, solar PV inputs, charge controllers, and grid/generator inputs where supported by the product.
Record test observations, measurements, failures, corrective actions, and test results in approved formats.
Troubleshooting \& Failure Analysis
Investigate circuit, PCB, firmware, thermal, electrical, and field\-return failures using systematic root\-cause analysis.
Identify component failures, design weaknesses, protection gaps, and recurring issues; recommend and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Service, and Repair teams to resolve technical issues and reduce repeat failures.
Validate corrective actions through repeat testing before recommending release.
Solar \& Inverter System Validation
Verify inverter operation and relevant solar/hybrid functions against approved product requirements.
Check applicable protection functions, such as overload, short circuit, over/under\-voltage, over\-temperature, reverse polarity, and battery\-related protections.
Support validation of MPPT/PWM charging, changeover, battery charging profiles, and system compatibility where these features are part of the product.
Ensure tests are performed using approved procedures, suitable instruments, and safe test arrangements.
PCB, BOM \& Engineering Documentation
Review PCB layouts for manufacturability, component placement, clearances, thermal considerations, and serviceability.
Prepare, review, and update BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, engineering drawings, and revision\-controlled documents.
Support PCB revisions, component substitutions, and engineering change requests with proper evaluation and approval.
Maintain traceable records for prototypes, test reports, design versions, and approved product changes.
Production \& Quality Support
Provide technical support during pilot runs, new\-product introduction, production testing, and process troubleshooting.
Work with Production and Quality teams to improve yield, reduce rework, and resolve recurring defects.
Define or improve inspection and functional\-test checkpoints in coordination with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
Train relevant technicians and production personnel on approved technical changes and testing methods.
Compliance, Safety \& Reliability
Follow applicable electrical safety practices, ESD controls, laboratory procedures, and company quality systems.
Support verification against relevant product standards and regulatory requirements identified by the organization.
Use calibrated instruments and approved test setups; report unsafe conditions or abnormal test results promptly.
Consider derating, thermal management, component life, reliability, and serviceability during design and validation.
Cross\-Functional Coordination \& Reporting
Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Quality, Service, and suppliers for component evaluation and technical resolution.
Provide project status, testing progress, risks, and issue reports to the R\&D Manager.
Meet agreed project milestones and escalate delays, resource constraints, and critical technical risks promptly.
Protect confidential designs, firmware, technical data, and intellectual property.
\* Expected Deliverables
Approved schematics, PCB files, BOMs, and design documents.
Prototype build records and design verification/test reports.
Root\-cause analysis and corrective\-action reports for design or field failures.
Engineering change notes and updated revision\-controlled documentation.
Pilot\-run support records and technical inputs for product release.
4\. Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of development and validation milestones within agreed timelines.
First\-pass success rate and completeness of design verification.
Reduction in repeat failures, warranty issues, rework, and production defects attributable to design.
Accuracy and revision control of engineering documentation.
Timely closure of technical issues and effectiveness of corrective actions.
Compliance with safety procedures, testing protocols, and quality requirements.
\* Skills \& Competencies
Knowledge of analog/digital electronics, power electronics, inverter topologies, and PCB design.
Understanding of solar PV systems, batteries, charging systems, and protection circuits relevant to assigned products.
Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power analyzers, and other relevant test equipment.
Knowledge of schematic/PCB tools and documentation practices; firmware or embedded\-system knowledge is an advantage where applicable.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, teamwork, and report\-writing skills.
