Job Description
We are an early\-stage robotics startup looking for a really strong robotics engineer to help us build a semi\-autonomous Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) from the ground up.
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves building robots, UGVs, and UAVs — someone who enjoys taking an idea, getting their hands dirty, and turning it into a working machine. We value practical engineering ability, curiosity, and the willingness to go the extra mile far more than years of experience or formal qualifications.
This is an opportunity to be part of a small team where you will have significant ownership over the product and the freedom to make meaningful technical decisions.
What You Will Work On
- Design and build a UGV chassis, drivetrain, and mechanical systems from scratch.
- Develop a semi\-autonomous ground robot capable of navigating and operating in outdoor environments, including uneven terrain.
- Integrate motors, motor controllers, sensors, cameras, batteries, and onboard computing systems.
- Develop and implement robotics software for motion control, localization, navigation, and obstacle avoidance.
- Work with robotics frameworks such as ROS 2, PX4, or similar technologies where appropriate.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and continuously improve real\-world hardware and software prototypes.
- Explore and implement autonomous capabilities, moving from basic remote\-controlled operation toward increasingly autonomous behavior.
- Take ownership of engineering challenges across mechanical, electrical, and software systems as the product evolves.
What We Are Looking For
- A strong hands\-on robotics engineer who has actually built robots, UGVs, UAVs, or similar systems.
- Someone comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
- Experience with embedded systems, motor control, sensors, microcontrollers, or robotics software.
- Familiarity with Linux, Python, C\+\+, ROS/ROS 2, or similar robotics tools.
- A strong problem\-solving mindset and the ability to independently figure things out.
- Someone who enjoys experimenting, prototyping, breaking things, and making them work.
- A genuine passion for robotics and a desire to build real\-world autonomous systems.
Who Would Be a Great Fit
We would love to meet someone who spends their free time building robots, experimenting with drones, working on personal robotics projects, or exploring how autonomous systems work.
You do not need to have extensive professional experience. If you have built impressive projects independently and can demonstrate strong engineering ability, we would love to hear from you.
We are particularly interested in people who are excited about the challenge of building a UGV from scratch rather than simply joining a company to work on an existing product.
Why Join Us?
- Work on a real robotics product from the earliest stages.
- Have significant ownership over engineering decisions and product development.
- Work across the full robotics stack, from mechanical design to autonomous navigation.
- Build and test physical robots rather than spending all your time on simulations or documentation.
- Be part of a small, ambitious team where your contributions directly shape the product.
If building UGVs and UAVs is something you genuinely love, and you want to turn that passion into a career building real autonomous systems, we would love to hear from you.
