Client specializes in building successful ecommerce brands across Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and other retail channels. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to own the day\-to\-day bookkeeping and full month\-end close across our multi\-entity US business. This is a senior individual\-contributor role with no direct reports. The ideal candidate is hands\-on, detail\-oriented, and capable of producing accurate accrual\-basis financials that can stand up to review by senior management, our outside CPA, and external stakeholders.

Location: Remote; Time Zone: Hours will be based on EST/PST time zone.

• *Key Objectives:**

• Complete accurate monthly P\&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements by business day 5\.
• Own the full accounting cycle across multiple US entities, from transaction entry through a completed month\-end close.
• Maintain accurate marketplace, inventory, landed cost, and COGS accounting across our ecommerce channels.
• Provide clean and credible financial reporting while proactively identifying accounting issues and discrepancies.

• *Key Responsibilities:**

• Month\-End Close: Own a documented close calendar and deliver completed monthly financials by business day 5, including accruals, prepaids, deferrals, depreciation, and other required journal entries.
• Bookkeeping \& Reconciliations: Categorize and record transactions in QuickBooks Online across multiple US entities and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant accounts.
• Payables/Receivables: Maintain accurate AP and AR schedules and proactively follow up on open or unreconciled items.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with clear supporting schedules.
• Chart of Accounts: Maintain a clean and consistently applied chart of accounts across entities.
• Intercompany \& Consolidation: Reconcile intercompany activity and support consolidated financial reporting across entities.
• Marketplace Accounting: Reconcile Amazon settlement reports into gross sales, referral fees, FBA fees, refunds, reserves, reimbursements, and other activity rather than recording net deposits as revenue. Apply the same discipline to Walmart, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and other channels.
• Inventory \& COGS: Maintain accurate inventory accounting, including product cost, freight, duty, tariffs, inventory in transit, landed cost, and COGS recognition.
• Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile inventory recorded in the books to warehouse and marketplace inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly P\&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements by entity and consolidated, with variance commentary against prior month and prior year.
• Tax \& External Support: Support preparation of the annual tax package for our outside CPA and provide schedules or documentation requested during external reviews.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide accounting and financial analysis requested by senior management.

• *Ideal Candidate Skills:**

• Hands\-on QuickBooks Online expertise, not just general familiarity.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual\-basis accounting.
• Experience with inventory, landed cost, and COGS accounting in a product\-based or ecommerce business.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Strong written English and the ability to communicate clearly with a remote US\-based team.
• Highly organized and able to work independently across a time zone gap.
• Proactive problem\-solving approach with the ability to raise issues before they become larger problems.

• *Qualifications:**

• 5\+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years independently owning a full month\-end close.
• CA Inter, CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred. Strong candidates without certification will be considered if they have substantial close ownership experience.
• Experience supporting a US or UK\-based company is strongly preferred.
• Experience with inventory and COGS accounting in a product or ecommerce business.
• Direct experience with Amazon Seller Central settlement reconciliation is strongly preferred.
• Experience with A2X, Link My Books, or a similar marketplace\-to\-QuickBooks integration is a plus.
• Multi\-entity consolidation experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting due diligence or a quality of earnings process is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
