Location: Chennai, India Experience: 10\+ Years Industry Preference: System Integration, Electromechanical, Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, EPC Projects Reporting To: Finance Manager / Finance Director Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and audit activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and proven experience handling end\-to\-end finance functions in a corporate environment. Experience working with UAE entities or multinational organizations will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities General Accounting \& Financial Management Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts. Manage General Ledger (GL) activities and ensure timely closing of accounts. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies. Monitor day\-to\-day accounting transactions and financial controls. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Generate MIS reports for management review. Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights. Support management with profitability and cost analysis. Prepare cash flow statements and financial forecasts. Accounts Payable \& Receivable Oversee vendor payments and customer collections. Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables. Ensure timely processing of invoices and payment approvals. Reconcile supplier and customer accounts regularly. Bank \& Account Reconciliation Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances. Verify balance sheet schedules and supporting documents. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly. Budgeting \& Forecasting Assist in annual budget preparation. Monitor actual expenses against budgets. Support forecasting and financial planning activities. Analyze cost trends and recommend improvements. Taxation \& Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. Manage GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory filings. Coordinate with tax consultants and regulatory authorities. Maintain proper documentation for statutory compliance. Audit Coordination Support internal and external audits. Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation. Address auditor queries and implement recommendations. Strengthen internal controls and risk management processes. Cash Flow \& Treasury Management Monitor cash flow requirements and working capital. Prepare cash flow forecasts. Coordinate banking activities and fund management. Ensure adequate liquidity for business operations. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes. Implement financial controls and automation initiatives. Support ERP implementation and system enhancements. Develop and maintain accounting SOPs. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, or Accounting. CA Inter / CMA / MBA Finance preferred. Professional accounting certifications are an advantage. Experience 10\+ years of accounting and finance experience. Experience in engineering, automation, electromechanical, manufacturing, or EPC sectors preferred. UAE/Middle East accounting experience is desirable. Experience in system integration companies is an added advantage. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Expertise in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger. Knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Financial Analysis). Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally Prime, or Zoho Books. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Exposure to international accounting environments, especially UAE operations, will be highly preferred.
