About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands\-on **Senior Automation Test Engineer / Technical Lead** to lead automation testing initiatives for our German healthcare software client.

The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise in **Playwright with TypeScript and Appium**, with the ability to independently design, develop, maintain, and optimize automation frameworks across web and mobile applications.

This is a **hands\-on technical leadership role**, requiring strong coding capabilities, problem\-solving skills, ownership of test automation deliverables, and the ability to guide a small QA engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts using **Playwright with TypeScript**.
• Develop and maintain mobile automation test suites using **Appium** for Android and iOS applications.
• Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks for web and mobile applications.
• Take end\-to\-end ownership of automation testing activities, including test planning, execution, defect analysis, and reporting.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior automation engineers.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve testing efficiency.
• Collaborate directly with developers, product owners, and international stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure product quality.
• Perform API testing, integration testing, regression testing, and functional validation.
• Troubleshoot complex automation failures, identify root causes, and drive timely resolutions.
• Proactively identify quality risks and recommend improvements to test coverage and automation processes.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• **Playwright \+ TypeScript:** Strong hands\-on experience developing and maintaining web automation frameworks.
• **Appium:** Practical experience implementing mobile test automation for Android and/or iOS.
• **Programming:** Strong TypeScript/JavaScript coding and debugging skills.
• **Framework Development:** Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks independently.
• **API Testing:** Experience with REST API testing and validation.
• **CI/CD:** Working knowledge of Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
• **Testing Practices:** Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, defect management, and test automation best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in healthcare software, healthcare IT, or regulated application environments.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java.
• Familiarity with desktop application testing or QF\-Test.
• Experience collaborating with European or German software development teams.
• Knowledge of accessibility, cross\-browser, and cross\-platform testing.
