Senior Azure & Terraform Technical Lead

• *Role description**

UST is seeking an experienced **Senior Cloud Platform Engineer / Technical Lead** with strong hands\-on expertise in **Azure** and **Terraform**, along with practical experience using **Claude or Cursor** for AI\-assisted engineering.

This role combines hands\-on cloud platform engineering with technical leadership. The successful candidate will lead Azure infrastructure operations, drive Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, review infrastructure changes, troubleshoot complex platform issues, and guide engineers in resolving technical blockers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior\-level engineering and technical leadership for **Azure** cloud platform environments.
• Provision, configure, operate, troubleshoot, and scale Azure infrastructure.
• Support Azure access management, infrastructure lifecycle activities, security controls, networking, and resource configurations.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain cloud infrastructure using **Terraform**.
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules for standardized and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
• Perform technical reviews of Terraform code and review and approve Terraform pull requests.
• Troubleshoot Terraform workspace, state, configuration, deployment, and infrastructure\-related issues.
• Ensure Terraform implementations follow established engineering, security, governance, and code\-quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure provisioning through Terraform automation and standardization.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex Azure infrastructure and platform issues and drive root\-cause analysis and permanent remediation.
• Act as a technical escalation point, guide engineers, review technical solutions, and remove technical blockers affecting delivery or service restoration.
• Apply **Claude or Cursor** to AI\-assisted coding, understanding and reviewing existing code, Terraform development, and troubleshooting.
• Use Claude or Cursor to improve engineering productivity and accelerate resolution of technical issues.
• Promote engineering best practices, automation, standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement.
