Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for a Video\-on\-Demand (VoD) platform. The role involves building services for video ingestion, transcoding job orchestration, adaptive bitrate (ABR) packaging, content storage, and delivery.

You will work on distributed systems and large\-scale video processing infrastructure, focusing on performance, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, fault\-tolerant backend services for video ingestion, transcoding, packaging, and delivery workflows.
• Own backend features end\-to\-end, from technical design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Write high\-quality, maintainable, and well\-tested code.
• Contribute to architectural decisions involving throughput, latency, cost, and system reliability.
• Integrate video processing services with content management systems, CDN origin, DRM/entitlement systems, and metadata APIs.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Optimize video processing workflows for cost efficiency, throughput, and time\-to\-publish.
• Collaborate with product managers, content operations, and cross\-functional engineering teams.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

• Strong programming experience in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience developing and operating production\-grade backend services.
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and system design.
• Hands\-on experience with AWS, preferably S3, compute services, SQS, and SNS.
• Knowledge of event\-driven architecture, Kafka, message queues, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience with databases, storage systems, and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Understanding of logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Strong problem\-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Experience and Education

• 3\+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• Experience building scalable and reliable distributed systems in production.

• *Contract Details:** This is a full\-time, 6\-month contractual position requiring on\-site work in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Pay: ₹150,000\.00 \- ₹250,000\.00 per month
