• *Role Description:**

We are seeking a seasoned hands on Senior Data Consultant to serve as a subject matter expert at the strategic intersection of SAP ecosystems and modern cloud\-native data platforms, with a primary focus on SAP BDC and Databricks and enterprise Lakehouse architecture. In this role, you will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable, production\-grade data solutions that bridge complex SAP data landscapes — including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, and SAP HANA — with BDC and Databricks\-powered analytics, machine learning pipelines, and unified governance frameworks.

You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and cross\-functional data teams to translate strategic objectives into robust, cloud\-optimized data products that drive measurable business outcomes. As a trusted technical advisor and client\-facing SME, you will play a pivotal role in shaping data, modernization, roadmaps and accelerating cloud transformation initiatives across our enterprise client portfolio.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Design, architect, and implement end\-to\-end Lakehouse solutions on Databricks, leveraging Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and the Medallion Architecture (Bronze–Silver–Gold) to deliver scalable, governed data platforms.
• Build and optimize production\-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark, Databricks Workflows, and Delta Live Tables (DLT) to support high\-volume, low\-latency data processing requirements.
• Integrate SAP data sources — including SAP BW, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and SAP ECC — with cloud data platforms via Azure Data Factory (ADF), AECORSOFT, SLT, ODP frameworks, or native SAP extractors.
• Implement and enforce data governance frameworks using Unity Catalog, covering data lineage, role\-based access control, data quality rules, and enterprise data cataloging.
• Develop and operationalize machine learning models and feature pipelines using MLflow and Databricks Feature Store, ensuring reproducibility, traceability, and deployment readiness.
• Optimize Databricks SQL workloads, cluster configurations, auto\-scaling policies, and query performance tuning for large\-scale analytics workloads across multi\-tenant environments.
• Design and enforce CI/CD pipelines for data engineering using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Databricks Asset Bundles, ensuring reliable, automated deployment of data assets.
• Architect and execute cross\-cloud data integration and migration workloads across Azure (ADLS Gen2, ADF, Synapse), AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift), and GCP (BigQuery, GCS).
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders and product owners to elicit requirements, define data models, and translate organizational needs into scalable, future\-proof data solutions.
• Lead data architecture reviews, technical workshops, and solution design sessions, producing clear design documentation, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers and analysts on Databricks best practices, SAP integration patterns, and modern data engineering principles.
• Define and enforce organization\-wide data engineering standards, coding conventions, performance tuning guidelines, and reusable framework components.
• Support pre\-sales activities, solution scoping, and client engagement as a technical SME — including RFP responses, proof\-of\-concept delivery, and executive\-level presentations.

• *Required Skills and Qualifications:**
• SAP Expertise
• 7–10 years of hands\-on SAP data experience spanning SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and SAP ECC environments across multiple project lifecycle phases.
• Strong, demonstrable understanding of SAP data extraction methods: ODP (Operational Data Provisioning), CDS Views, BAPIs, RFC function modules, and IDoc processing.
• Deep expertise in SAP BW/4HANA data modeling concepts: Advanced DSOs, InfoCubes, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views, and BEx query design.
• Experience integrating SAP systems with external platforms using SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT), ADF SAP Connector, GCP Lakehouse connectors, or comparable third\-party integration tools.
• Working knowledge of SAP DataSphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or SAP BTP is considered a strong advantage.
• Databricks \& Data Engineering
• Expert\-level proficiency in the Databricks Platform: Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows, Delta Live Tables (DLT), Databricks SQL, MLflow, and Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Advanced PySpark and SQL skills for distributed, large\-scale data transformation, aggregation, and processing across petabyte\-scale datasets.
• Strong experience architecting and delivering Lakehouse solutions following the Medallion / Bronze–Silver–Gold design pattern.
• Proven track record in designing, optimizing, and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments with high availability and data quality requirements.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with Scala or Java for performance\-critical Spark workloads is a plus.
• Hands\-on experience implementing data governance frameworks: data lineage tracing, automated data quality validation, RBAC/ABAC access policies, and metadata management.
• Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for data engineering using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Cloud \& Infrastructure
• Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform: Azure (ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics), AWS (S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Redshift), or GCP (BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Azure ARM templates for repeatable, governed cloud environment provisioning.
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles: RBAC, managed identities, private endpoints, data encryption at rest and in transit, and compliance frameworks.

• Databricks Certified Associate or Professional certification (Data Engineer, Machine Learning Professional, or Data Analyst Associate).
• SAP Certified Application Associate — SAP BW/4HANA or SAP S/4HANA (current certification preferred).
• Experience with real\-time streaming architectures using Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, or Databricks Structured Streaming for low\-latency data ingestion and processing.
• Experience with data mesh architecture principles, including domain\-driven data ownership, data products, and federated computational governance.
• Hands\-on knowledge of dbt (data build tool) for transformation layer management, data testing, and lineage documentation in SQL\-centric workflows.
• Prior experience in a Big 4 consulting, global system integrator (GSI), or technology advisory environment with client\-facing delivery responsibilities.
• Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and its integration suite capabilities for hybrid and multi\-cloud scenarios.
