• *About the Role**

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer with 10\+ years of experience to design, build, optimise, and maintain enterprise\-grade database platforms across relational and non\-relational technologies. You will bring deep database engineering expertise combining strong data modelling, performance tuning, and cloud database management skills — ensuring databases are reliable, secure, performant, and scalable across complex enterprise technology environments.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions across relational (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and non\-relational (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB) platforms.
• Conduct database performance tuning and optimisation including query analysis, execution plan review, indexing strategies, partitioning, and statistics management.
• Design and implement database schemas, data models, and data architectures supporting both OLTP and OLAP workloads across enterprise applications.
• Manage cloud database services on AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift) and Azure (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL) ensuring reliability, security, and cost optimisation.
• Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions including replication, clustering, failover, and backup strategies.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex SQL scripts using PL/SQL or T\-SQL for application and reporting requirements.
• Design and support ETL / ELT pipelines managing data ingestion, transformation, and loading across enterprise data platforms.
• Implement database security governance including RBAC, encryption at rest and in transit, auditing, and compliance controls.
• Monitor database health and performance using enterprise monitoring tools identifying and proactively resolving performance bottlenecks and availability risks.
• Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and architects translating business and application requirements into well\-designed, performant database solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation including database design documents, data dictionaries, and operational runbooks.

• *What We’re Looking For**

• 10\+ years of database engineering experience with deep expertise across relational and non\-relational database platforms in large\-scale enterprise production environments.
• Expert\-level SQL skills including complex querying, query optimisation, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Deep Oracle expertise including PL/SQL development, RAC, Data Guard, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Strong PostgreSQL and SQL Server skills including T\-SQL, replication, clustering, and high availability configuration.
• Solid cloud database experience across AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB) and Azure (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB) including managed service administration and cost optimisation.
• Strong data modelling expertise including conceptual, logical, and physical data model design for OLTP and OLAP workloads.
• Experience designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions including replication, failover, and backup strategies.
• Good NoSQL database experience including MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB for non\-relational data storage and retrieval.
• Solid understanding of database security including encryption, RBAC, auditing, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills engaging application developers, data engineers, and architects effectively.
