Senior Delivery Manager - Engineering

As a Senior Delivery Manager at Principal Financial Group, you will have the outstanding opportunity to lead the implementation of innovative technologies and drive groundbreaking change within our organization. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that we deliver world\-class products and solutions while upholding our dedication to excellence and innovation.**Key Responsibilities**

Delivery* Own end\-to\-end delivery accountability across Product Familys (cost, schedule, quality, business targets)

• Establish product\-centric delivery models aligned to domains/business capabilities
• Define and track value realization metrics from both engineering and business perspectives
• Build governance that balances speed with risk in systems powered by artificial intelligence

• *GenAI**

• Drive adoption of GenAI in SDLC, including code generation (Copilot, Bedrock\-powered tools), test automation, defect prediction, and documentation acceleration
• Lead development of GenAI\-powered products/solutions using AWS stack (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, vector DBs)
• Establish AI governance at the team level, focusing on Responsible AI, model lifecycle, and cost control

• *Cloud Engineering**

• Lead adoption of well\-architected AWS frameworks (security, reliability, cost, performance)
• Build internal platforms including golden paths/blueprints, DevSecOps pipelines, and an API\-first \& microservices ecosystem
• Optimize cloud cost (FinOps) and performance

• *Engineering Efficiency and Talent Transformation**

• Drive engineering efficiency metrics such as DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate) and developer efficiency with AI tools
• Upskill teams on AWS advanced services, LLMs, timely engineering, and RAG architectures
• Build a future\-ready talent strategy by encouraging hybrid teams (AI \+ software \+ data) and communities of practice

• *Collaborator Management**

• Partner with business, product, and enterprise architecture teams
• Manage Product\-level prioritization, balancing innovation (GenAI) with core modernization
• Build strong governance for risk and compliance, especially with AI systems
• Provide Program\-level visibility through dashboards and objectives and key results

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with AWS
• Significant experience with XP Engineering methods (TDD, Mobbing, Pair\-Programming, Code coverage, clean code practices)
• Experience in handling software development life cycles guided by advanced technology
• Good exposure to Agile and Lean software development methodologies
