Job Description

Key responsibilities

• Basic design engineering, calculations and preparation of specifications, drawings, manuals, Control schemes, Load calculations, QAP, cost estimations, for all Electrical systems, automation \& control systems
• System/equipment design/drawing review/approval, follow\-up for clarifications, submissions,
• Familiar with the applicable standards and International codes
• Support for quality assurance, inspections, and factory acceptance tests
• Developing and maintaining department resources and technical knowledge to generate efficient and cost competitive solutions and timely deliverables
• Investigates new concepts for practicality, economy, and operating efficiency
• Coordination with the project management, site team \& client.
• Sound understanding and applying conceptual electrical knowledge.
• Basic design \& Calculation of electrical component for hydroelectric power station projects and Pump Storage projects.
• Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort to maintain healthy group dynamics.
• Exercise technical discretion and decision making; address \& resolve site \& customer related issues.
• Strong knowledge in one or several Hydro products/ PSP’s / components/ Systems. Hands on experience in execution of engineering of hydro projects \& detailed know how on hydro technology, design and hydro process.
• Generate project documents and drawings.
• Perform the drawings, documents, and inspection \& test procedures review from the sellers and manufacturers.
• Good Coordination with all other engineering disciplines for interface and other works.
• Assist inspections during testing and evaluate test results of equipment, both if necessary. Also, perform Final inspections at the Manufacturer’s workshop when required by the project.
• Shall be able to resolve any technical issue during execution of project with interfacing functions.
• Apply all the relevant HSE requirements and criteria in the engineering work and decisions.
• Strong Knowledge on all electrical equipment testing, commissioning and trouble shooting.
• Strong knowledge on Hydro / PSP SCADA system and protection system.

Qualifications

The candidate must be a graduate /postgraduate with degree in engineering (Electrical) with at least 8\+ years of experience in hydro power sector and electrical sector. He / She should have knowledge/understanding on all the electrical packages/systems i.e. generator, control \& protection system, SCADA, LV/MV/HV switchgears, Earthing, Power, AC \& DC Systems, Cabling system \& scheduling, Illumination, Communication \& Surveillance system, HV substations etc. Exposure to QA and site installation/commissioning activities would be an advantage.
