Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to design and build highly scalable, reliable backend systems for subscription and payment platforms. The role involves developing services for payments, subscriptions, user entitlements, and transaction processing.

You will drive complex technical initiatives, contribute to architecture and system design, and build high\-throughput, low\-latency services capable of handling significant traffic spikes while maintaining availability and data consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect REST APIs and microservices for subscriptions, payments, and user entitlements.
• Develop purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund, and subscription\-management workflows.
• Design reliable transaction\-processing systems using idempotency, retries, reconciliation, and failure\-handling mechanisms.
• Build event\-driven and asynchronous workflows using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Lead complex integrations with payment providers, app stores, and external platform APIs.
• Drive architecture and system\-design decisions for high\-throughput, low\-latency, and highly available systems.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across distributed services.
• Improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to code reviews, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and caching technologies such as Redis.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event\-streaming and messaging platforms.
• Strong understanding of transaction management, idempotency, and data consistency.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong production debugging, performance optimization, and system\-design skills.

Experience Requirements

• 7\+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and operating scalable production systems.
• Strong architecture and system\-design capabilities.
• Ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives and platform integrations.
• Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing technical designs.

• *Contract Details:** This is a full\-time, 6\-month contractual position. The role is remote within India.

Pay: ₹250,000\.00 \- ₹300,000\.00 per month
