We are seeking an experiencedBusiness Analyst with strong expertise in theInsurance domain and solidSQL skills to support business transformation and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving requirements gathering, solution design, data analysis, and successful delivery of insurance\-related projects.
Experience withIngenium Policy Administration System is highly preferred. The candidate should possess excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills to effectively collaborate with business users, product owners, vendors, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, business processes, and operational challenges.
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
- Conduct impact assessments and gap analysis for system enhancements and transformation initiatives.
- Work closely with development, QA, product, and architecture teams to ensure accurate solution delivery.
- Utilize SQL for data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, stakeholder meetings, and solution walkthroughs.
- Support SIT, UAT, and production implementation activities.
- Collaborate with business users to define acceptance criteria and ensure requirements traceability.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, BRDs, FRDs, process maps, and test scenarios.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on project progress and risks.
Required Skills Qualifications
Domain Expertise
- Strong experience in theLife Insurance and/or Annuity Insurance domain.
- Good understanding of:
- Policy Administration
- New Business Processing
- Underwriting
- Policy Servicing
- Claims Management
- Billing Collections
- Regulatory and Compliance requirements
- Experience working on insurance transformation or modernization programs.
Technical Skills
* Strong hands\-on experience inSQL for
- Complex queries
- Data validation
- Data analysis
- Reconciliation activities
- Root cause analysis
- Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of data mapping and data migration activities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience withIngenium Policy Administration System.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of API integrations and downstream/upstream system interactions.
Stakeholder Management
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams.
- Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups across business and IT functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of driving consensus and resolving conflicting priorities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Insurance industry certifications will be a plus.
