- *JOB TITLE:** **Senior Manager – Piping**
- Resource management and supervision of Piping engineers, designers and technical personnel.
- Project \& Department objective articulated \& communicated to the team.
- Providing technical expertise during various phases of project execution and proposal engineering as required.
- Perform / Monitor all Gate Reviews, HOD TBE Reviews if reqd. in absence of HOD.
- Follow\-up on Contract Review closeout, Gate Review closeout, Line of Sight closeout \& Value Engineering Session closeout.
- Ensuring applicable Lesson Learnt implementation on projects.
- To drive right behavior in VEC team to ensure all round performance and delivery.
- Promote fit for purpose design philosophy.
- Operate \& promote “First Time Right” policy.
- Focus on project risk management.
- Driving prompt response to Site query
- Provide support to PEC Lead to have strong Hold of the project goals (Ensuring integrity \& safety of the design, meeting quality as per contractual intent, meeting schedule, optimizing Procurement \& Construction cost and maintaining high productivity).
- To promote “No Communication Gap” with VEC team by maintaining a collaborative approach.
- Exhibit strong leadership and soft skills to excel in work share environment.
- Greater flexibility in mobility.
- Perform sensitivity analysis in doubtful cases \& follow risk based approach.
- Identify \& expedite Vendor documents that will impact project schedule.
- Engage Construction, Commissioning \& Operation teams for their inputs \& reviews early on projects.
- Focus on VDR closeout in projects.
- Assess vendor capability to develop 3D models and if required plan for taking over this scope.
- Work clearly as per the interface between Head Office \& VEC adhering to SLA.
- Identify, evaluate \& finalize outsourcing of any detailed design scope to engineering subcontractor at earliest.
- Control, coordinate change using change control procedure.
- Coordinate with Procurement team for prioritizing orders which are crucial to obtain critical data for engineering.
- Effective material control for bulks.
- Maintain Risk Register throughout the project life cycle.
- Escalate serious risk to senior management \& always have a fall back plan that allows time to react.
- Focus on timely delivery of engineering and procurement and proactively engaged with subcontractor to identify gaps.
- Perform Scheduled Weekly meeting with project piping team w.r.t Micro level plan prepared by Project Lead and Progress Report issued by Projects.
- Ensure strict qty. management on Project w.r.t. Project Fortnightly Report prepared by Project Lead.
- To be involved in Internal Model Review by all engineering disciplines.
- Monitor adherence to QMS.
- Monitor release of Start\-up Job Notes \& work process related Job Notes especially with Project Deputy Lead.
- Evaluate competency of each individual and organize training based on gap identified to enhance competency.
- Shall stand in as Technical Authority for selected projects.
- Carry out the role and responsibilities as a Functional Manager for the team.
- Support HOD in setting \& managing department objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) \& budget and aligning these to the requirements of management.
- Support HOD in promoting innovation, departmental improvement and team working.
- Support HOD in developing strategies for continuous improvement of knowledge base, cost consciousness, quality and safety in response to demands of EPC business.
- Conducting in house training programs on topics related to Piping Design activities.
- Supports the employee performance evaluations, establish performance criteria, identify employee strengths \& weaknesses and recommend training \& development requirements.
- Perform related duties as \& when required by HOD.
- *ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 20 years of experience \& at least 15 years of experience in engineering consultancy or EPC company in Oil \& Gas petrochemical industries.
- Responsible for managing supervisors.
- Include those with a high degree of professional specialist expertise.
- Provides technical support and guidance to Piping engineers and designers in converting the project from concept to detailed engineering.
