About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and strategic procurement professional to lead our purchasing function and drive sourcing excellence across multiple categories. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a well\-established vendor network.
This is a leadership position that reports **directly to the Directors** and offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's procurement strategy, cost optimization initiatives, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage procurement of chemical raw materials, engineering items, packaging materials, MRO items, stores, and consumables.
- Lead vendor identification, evaluation, development, and relationship management.
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, pricing, and annual rate agreements with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and supply chain risks to support strategic decision\-making.
- Ensure timely procurement to support uninterrupted plant operations and production schedules.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Stores, Quality, and Finance teams.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Manage inventory planning and demand forecasting in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and industry best practices.
Desired Candidate ProfileEssential Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Purchase, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing roles.
- **Mandatory experience in Specialty Chemicals, Agrochemicals, Dyes \& Pigments, or Industrial Chemicals.**
- Strong supplier and vendor network within the chemical industry.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor development, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience handling multiple procurement categories including chemicals, packaging materials, engineering items, MRO, and plant consumables.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership and influence business decisions.
Preferred
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Exposure to procurement budgeting, inventory planning, and supply chain optimization.
