We are looking for an experienced and dynamic **Senior Manager – UK Accounting** to lead our accounting operations, oversee multiple teams, manage client relationships, and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring extensive UK accounting experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex financial operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for UK accounting and bookkeeping functions.
• Oversee multiple accounting teams and ensure efficient execution of daily operations and client deliverables.
• Supervise and mentor Managers, Assistant Managers, and accounting team members.
• Review and oversee management accounts, financial statements, bank reconciliations, and month\-end and year\-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK accounting standards, UK GAAP, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage key client relationships, lead senior\-level client discussions, and resolve complex escalations.
• Monitor departmental performance through KPIs, productivity metrics, turnaround times, and quality benchmarks.
• Establish robust review mechanisms and internal controls to maintain accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
• Oversee audit coordination, financial reporting processes, and client\-specific accounting requirements.
• Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements, standardisation, and automation initiatives.
• Manage resource planning, team capacity, hiring requirements, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on business objectives, operational planning, and departmental growth.
• Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high\-quality client service.

Required Skills \& Qualifications

• *Education**

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• CA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualification preferred.

• *Experience**

• 15\+ years of overall experience in accounting and finance.
• Extensive hands\-on experience in UK accounting and bookkeeping operations.
• Significant experience managing large teams and overseeing multiple accounting functions.
• Proven experience managing client portfolios and senior stakeholder relationships.

• *Technical Skills**

• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK accounting practices.
• Expertise in management accounts, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and Sage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of month\-end and year\-end closing, audit processes, and financial controls.
