Job Description

  • *About us**
  • -----------

Camascope is a fast\-growing technology company, now part of PCS, focused on empowering the care and medication sector with technology. Our ecosystem connects pharmacies, care homes and doctors to improve the lives of many.

PCS Care is used by care professionals every day, so reliability matters. We are a team of talented, caring and ambitious people who love solving real problems and are committed to building the highest\-quality solutions.

  • *What you will work on**
  • ------------------------

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer on PCS Care, you will be an integral part of the Bengaluru team that develops, enhances and expands QA test coverage at scale for our care and medication product. As a core contributor you will work with cross\-functional teams to deliver high\-quality QA automation approaches and tooling as we add features to PCS Care, and you will help mentor and guide the engineers who join the team. We want an experienced, adaptable engineer who can start lean, iterate towards well\-architected solutions, help raise the standard for how we test, and use AI\-assisted tooling, including AI\-assisted test case generation, to raise coverage and speed up delivery. You will work in TypeScript, Playwright and Appium, which our existing web and mobile app automation already uses.

Reporting and team structure.

You will report to the Engineering Manager for the Bengaluru PCS Care team, with a dotted\-line relationship to the QA Manager in the UK. The Bengaluru manager sets your priorities, supports your growth and handles day\-to\-day management. The UK QA Manager sets testing standards and approach, and helps you stay aligned with the wider PCS QA practice.

You will work daily with the Bengaluru developers, the TPM and product counterparts, and regularly with the UK engineering and QA teams, so you should be comfortable working across time zones.

  • *Responsibilities**
  • -------------------
  • Design, develop and maintain test cases for both manual and automated testing
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, UI and exploratory testing across mobile, web and APIs to identify defects and ensure high\-quality software delivery
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks, and run them as part of the CI/CD pipeline
  • Participate in the evolution of the test automation framework and approach for PCS Care
  • Identify, document and track defects using JIRA, collaborating closely with developers to resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot and debug test automation issues, working with the team to identify root causes
  • Collaborate with developers on complex issue investigation
  • Work in an agile team\-oriented environment, collaborating with other Engineers, Designers and Product Managers to achieve product outcomes.
  • Mentor and provide guidelines to engineers joining the team, and stay aligned with the UK QA Manager on testing standards
  • Report clearly on test results, coverage and open defects
  • Keep our customers and care home patients at the heart of everything we build.
  • *Requirements**
  • ---------------
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
  • 6 to 10 years of industry experience in software testing, with strong hands\-on experience in test automation
  • Solid experience in manual testing and validation
  • Experience with a modern language for test automation, such as C\#, JavaScript or TypeScript (TypeScript preferred, as used in our existing automation)
  • Experience designing and building test automation frameworks for mobile and web applications, ideally with Playwright and Appium, which our existing automation uses (transferable experience with similar tools is welcome)
  • Experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman, and familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database testing
  • Experience with a cloud device platform such as BrowserStack for running mobile and cross\-browser tests
  • Experience with BDD practices and tooling such as Cucumber
  • Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to generate test cases and automation code, with the judgement to review and validate what they produce
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with a fix\-forward and learn mindset
  • Capable and comfortable working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience mentoring other engineers, and excellent communication with colleagues in Bengaluru and the UK.
  • *Bonus points**
  • ---------------
  • Having worked in healthcare or pharmacy tech previously
  • Experience running test automation in CI/CD pipelines, and with Azure or AWS environments
  • Unit testing and test\-driven development experience
  • Experience with test management tools such as Testmo
  • Exposure to or use of feature flags, ideally Harness FME
  • Experience working on large\-scale multi\-tenant SaaS systems.
  • *What we offer**
  • ----------------
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • The chance to shape QA practice in a new, growing Bengaluru team, working closely with colleagues in the UK
  • Meaningful work: your testing directly supports care professionals and the people they look after.
