Senior SEO & GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Expert

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced SEO and GEO specialist who is ahead of the curve \- someone who not only dominates traditional search rankings but also understands how AI\-driven search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.) discover, cite, and surface content. This is a senior, high\-impact role for someone who lives and breathes search.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute end\-to\-end SEO strategy across technical, on\-page, and off\-page dimensions
• Develop and implement GEO strategies to ensure content is cited and surfaced by AI\-powered search engines and large language models
• Conduct deep keyword research, search intent analysis, and competitive gap analysis
• Optimize content architecture, internal linking, structured data (schema markup), and crawlability
• Collaborate closely with content, product, and engineering teams to implement SEO recommendations
• Monitor and analyze performance using tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, and Screaming Frog
• Track AI citation rates and visibility across generative search surfaces (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bing Copilot)
• Stay current with algorithm updates, AI search trends, and evolving best practices
• Report on KPIs including organic traffic, rankings, impressions, CTR, and AI visibility metrics
• Identify and resolve technical SEO issues (Core Web Vitals, crawl errors, indexation, site speed)

Required Qualifications

• 5\+ years of hands\-on SEO experience with demonstrable results
• Proven experience with GEO \- specifically optimizing for AI\-generated answers and citations
• Deep understanding of how LLMs process and retrieve web content
• Strong command of technical SEO (crawling, rendering, structured data, sitemaps, robots.txt)
• Proficiency with industry tools: Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Surfer SEO, or similar
• Experience with content strategy and working alongside writers to optimize for both humans and AI
• Strong analytical skills \- comfortable working with data, building reports, and drawing insights
• Solid understanding of HTML, JavaScript SEO considerations, and CMS platforms

Nice to Have

• Experience in a SaaS, e\-commerce, or media environment at scale
• Familiarity with prompt engineering or how AI models are trained/fine\-tuned
• Experience with international/multilingual SEO
• Knowledge of entity\-based SEO and knowledge graph optimization
• Background in digital PR or link acquisition at scale
