The Citi Analytics \& Information Management (AIM) team is a global community that objectively connects and analyzes information to create actionable intelligence for our business leaders. This role is a part of the AIM Fraud Prevention Analytics team, reporting to Director/Managing Director at Citi

As the Head of Gen AI within AIM Fraud team, you are a senior leader and technical visionary responsible for a team of data scientists. A primary area of focus for this position will be to lead the team through the successful development and implementation of ML/AI/Gen AI solutions across different platforms. You will analyze data to understand fraud patterns and guide the design, development, and deployment of generative AI solutions that achieve overall business goals. You will provide thought leadership, define the technical strategy, architect our most complex systems, and lead by example by contributing directly to the team's most challenging projects.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• **Provide thought leadership and architectural oversight for all ML/AI/Gen AI solutions.**

+ Set the technical vision for the fraud analytics platform, defining the roadmap for adopting multi\-agent systems and other next\-generation AI technologies.

+ Personally lead the design of the most complex and critical AI systems, including customizing existing RAG frameworks or designing novel ones to meet project requirements.

• **Act as the team's chief architect and technical authority, providing hands\-on guidance and contributing to the codebase for critical components.**

+ Define the engineering standards, best practices, and technology stack for the team.

+ Lead by example, directly contributing to the development of core frameworks and solving the most challenging technical problems.

• **Establish and oversee a robust governance framework for the entire model lifecycle to meet regulatory and internal standards for AI/Gen AI models**

+ Define the firm's strategy for AI governance in fraud analytics, specifically addressing Model Risk Management (MRM) and Fair Lending guidelines.

+ Architect and oversee the implementation of technical controls and automated systems to ensure adherence to governance policies.

+ Act as the senior point of escalation for all model\-related risk and compliance matters.

• **Architect and own the team's enterprise\-grade MLOps framework.**

+ Design a holistic MLOps strategy that supports both traditional ML and complex LLM\-based systems.

+ Make strategic decisions on build\-vs\-buy for MLOps tooling and platforms to create a best\-in\-class ecosystem.

• **Lead, manage, and mentor a high\-performing team of AI specialists.**

+ Recruit, hire, and develop world\-class AI talent.

+ Provide continuous technical mentorship to senior team members on architecture and leadership, while championing a culture that values deep, hands\-on expertise.

• **Drive strategic alignment by translating executive vision into a technical roadmap, and articulate the value, risks, and ROI of complex AI initiatives to senior leadership.**

• *Qualifications**

• Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
• 12 plus years of professional experience, with a significant portion spent in a hands\-on technical leadership capacity
• Experience in Fraud , Risk , AML is preferable but not mandatory
• Deep, authoritative knowledge of the AI landscape, with proven expertise in architecting solutions using LLMs (including fine\-tuning), advanced RAG pipelines, and Agentic AI frameworks.
• Extensive experience with advanced Python and its libraries (NumPy, Pandas), big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hue, Impala), and various databases (SQL, NoSQL, Teradata).
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to model governance
• Proven track record of leading high\-performing AI/ML teams while maintaining deep, hands\-on involvement in system architecture and design.
• Strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and align executive stakeholders.
