Job Summary

Role Summary\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nThe Monitoring Engineer will manage, optimize, and support enterprise grade monitoring solutions using SolarWinds Orion and ThousandEyes platforms. This role includes end to end monitoring configuration, data analysis, performance troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure high availability and visibility across network, server, and application landscapes.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nKey Responsibilities\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nSolarWinds Responsibilities\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Install, configure, and administer the SolarWinds Orion Platform including modules like: \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nNPM, SAM, NTA, VMAN, VNQM, IPAM, NetPath, PerfStack.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Configure monitoring for servers, network devices, applications, cloud endpoints, and virtual infrastructures.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Develop and maintain custom dashboards, alerts, reports, and maps.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Optimize polling engines, maintain APEs and HA setups, and ensure overall platform health.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Integrate SolarWinds with ITSM systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira) for alert automation.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Perform RCA using SolarWinds tools such as NetPath, PerfStack, Syslogs, and NetFlow.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Conduct device onboarding, monitoring coverage validation, and continuous improvements.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nGeneral Responsibilities\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Ensure proactive detection of performance issues, outages, and service degradations.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Maintain documentation for monitoring configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Support major incidents by providing accurate monitoring insights and evidence.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Participate in capacity planning, tool upgrades, health checks, and periodic audits.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Work with stakeholders to onboard new services and enhance monitoring coverage.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nRequired Skills \& Technical Expertise\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Hands on experience with SolarWinds Orion suite (NPM/SAM/NTA/IPAM/etc.).\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Strong understanding of networking protocols (SNMP, ICMP, WMI, NetFlow).\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Strong functional knowledge of ThousandEyes test creation, path visualization, and agent deployments.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Good understanding of: \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\no Network routing, DNS, BGP, MPLS, SD WAN\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\no Cloud/SaaS monitoring\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\no Windows/Linux infrastructures\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\no Network device types (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers)\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Experience working in enterprise NOC/SOC/Monitoring environments.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Ability to analyze monitoring data and correlate incident patterns.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Scripting knowledge in PowerShell/Python is a plus.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nPreferred Qualifications\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• SolarWinds SCP Certification\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Cisco / ThousandEyes Certification (if applicable)\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking certs\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Experience working with DEM/APM tools is a plus\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nSoft Skills\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Excellent communication and documentation skills\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Ability to work under pressure during critical incidents\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Customer centric mindset and attention to detail\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n• Team collaboration and coordination skills\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n
