Shift In-charge - Production

1**. Job Purpose**

To manage and supervise day\-to\-day production activities during the assigned shift, ensuring efficient operation of feed mill machinery, achievement of production targets, maintenance of product quality, optimum manpower utilization, and compliance with safety standards.

• *2\. Key Responsibilities**

A. Production Operations

1\. Manage and monitor complete feed mill production activities during the assigned shift.

2\. Ensure production targets are achieved as per daily production planning.

3\. Supervise raw material intake, grinding, batching, mixing, pelleting, cooling, crumbling and bagging operations.

4\. Ensure smooth functioning of pellet mills, hammer mills, mixers, conveyors, elevators and other production equipment.

5\. Monitor production output, machine efficiency and downtime.

6\. Minimize production losses, material wastage and machine breakdowns.

7\. Ensure proper changeover of feed formulations and production batches.

B. Manpower Management

1\. Allocate duties to operators, helpers and other shift employees.

2\. Monitor manpower productivity and discipline.

3\. Ensure proper coordination among production, maintenance and quality teams.

4\. Train operators on machine operations and safety procedures.

C. Quality Control

1\. Ensure feed production as per approved formulation and specifications.

2\. Monitor grinding particle size, mixing uniformity, moisture and pellet quality.

3\. Ensure proper implementation of quality control procedures.

4\. Coordinate with the Quality Control department for sampling and testing.

5\. Ensure prevention of cross\-contamination between different feed batches.

D. Machine \& Maintenance

1\. Monitor machine performance and identify operational issues.

2\. Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

3\. Ensure proper machine cleaning and housekeeping.

4\. Report machine breakdowns and technical issues to the concerned department.

E. Safety \& Compliance

1\. Ensure compliance with plant safety rules and SOPs.

2\. Ensure employees use appropriate PPE.

3\. Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping across the production area.

4\. Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished goods.

F. Reporting \& Documentation

1\. Prepare shift\-wise production reports.

2\. Maintain records of raw material consumption and finished goods production.

3\. Monitor production losses and downtime reports.

4\. Maintain shift handover reports.

5\. Report any production\-related issues to the Production Manager.

6\. Required Qualifications

\- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production or related engineering field.

\- Experience in poultry feed / cattle feed manufacturing preferred.

\- Knowledge of feed mill machinery and production processes.

\- Good manpower handling and leadership skills.

\- Basic computer knowledge, MS Excel and production reporting.

Pay: ₹18,000\.00 \- ₹25,000\.00 per month
