JD: Senior Field Engineer– Cloud AIOps / Event Management Role Overview The Senior Field Engineer (Cloud) is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud\-native Event Management and AIOps platforms. This role focuses on serverless architectures, cloud integrations, and scalable event pipelines, working closely with customers to deliver best\-practice cloud solutions. Shape Key Responsibilities Act as a post\-sales, customer\-facing Field Engineer ensuring successful adoption of Event Management / AIOps platforms. Design, deploy, and optimize cloud\-based Event Management and AIOps solutions. Work directly with customers to understand use cases and translate them into effective technical solutions Lead architecture design, sizing, capacity planning, and performance tuning for cloud\-native and serverless architectures. Continuously optimize the platform by tuning correlation logic, reducing alert noise, and improving performance to support reliable enterprise operations. Deploy and support scalable, distributed, and highly available cloud\-native architectures. Ensure high event quality by applying correct event golden attributes (severity, source, description, deduplication keys). Conduct customer design sessions, onboarding workshops, and technical walkthroughs. Deliver knowledge transfer and enablement. Create and maintain cloud architecture and implementation documentation. Shape Required Skills \& Experience 10–14 years of experience in Field Engineering roles within Cloud\-based Event Management, or AIOps implementation roles. Hands\-on experience with cloud\-based Event Management, Observability, or AIOps platforms, such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk Observability Cloud / ITSI, ServiceNow ITOM, New Relic, or equivalent cloud\-native solutions. Strong understanding of cloud operations and the operational impact of event quality in large\-scale production environments. Hands\-on experience implementing event ingestion, enrichment, deduplication, correlation, fail/clear handling, and noise reduction workflows. Experience implementing platform extensions, configurations, or integrations, including unit testing and validating changes in development environments. Experience with cloud ingestion pipelines and store\-and\-forward mechanisms. Strong understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, and data transformation workflows. Experience with RDBMS concepts and backend data troubleshooting. Programming or scripting experience in Java, Python, Shell, or JavaScript. Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, trade\-offs, and best practices to customers. Strong customer\-facing communication skills. Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills. Shape Nice\-to\-Have Skills: Experience with messaging or streaming technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka. Experience providing expert advisory and escalation support (non\-operational). Basic understanding of containers and Kubernetes. Awareness of ITSM / ITIL processes and integration with ticketing systems. Understanding of cloud release, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience working with Git repositories, version control, utilities, and shared libraries. Exposure to AWS Lambda and serverless integrations.
