Join eBay’s Customer Support Technology Platform team to support and evolve the systems that power our global customer support experience. As a Software Engineer 2, you will contribute to DevOps, SRE, and release engineering practices, helping improve system reliability, deployment pipelines, and operational efficiency.

This is a hands\-on role focused on automation, deployment, monitoring, and debugging, working closely with senior engineers to build reliable and scalable platform operations.

• *What You’ll Do**

• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, build, and release processes
• Contribute to automation tools and scripts for deployment and operations
• Assist in maintaining system reliability, monitoring, and alerting
• Troubleshoot production issues with guidance from senior engineers
• Participate in on\-call rotations (as needed) and incident response
• Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams to improve deployment safety and system stability
• Help define and track basic metrics, logs, and observability signals
• Follow best practices in DevOps, release management, and operational excellence

• *Must\-Have Qualifications**
• ----------------------------

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE\-related roles
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, or similar)
• Basic understanding of:

+ CI/CD pipelines and release processes

+ Linux/Unix environments

+ Cloud or distributed systems concepts

* Familiarity with

+ Version control (Git)

+ Debugging and troubleshooting production issues

+ Unit testing or automation practices

• Working knowledge of backend services and APIs to support deployment and operations
• Ability to collaborate with developers to improve build, test, and release workflows

• Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana)

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
