Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled **Backend Engineer** with **3\+ years of experience** to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust, high\-performance, and scalable microservices architectures. Your primary focus will be leveraging the **Java/Spring Boot ecosystem** and managing modern containerized deployments using **Kubernetes**. Exposure to relational databases, particularly **PostgreSQL**, will be highly advantageous in optimizing our data layer.

Key Responsibilities

• **Microservices Development:** Design, code, and deploy high\-performance, fault\-tolerant, and secure RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• **Orchestration \& Containerization:** Manage, scale, and troubleshoot distributed container applications seamlessly across Kubernetes environments.
• **Architecture \& Design:** Apply design patterns, clean code principles, and distributed systems architecture concepts (e.g., API Gateways, Service Discovery, Circuit Breakers).
• **Database Optimization:** Collaborate with data teams to integrate backend services with relational databases, writing optimized SQL queries and managing data schemas.
• **CI/CD Automation:** Contribute to automated deployment workflows, utilizing CI/CD pipelines and version control systems to ensure smooth, continuous delivery.
• **Collaboration \& Mentorship:** Participate actively in Agile sprint planning, technical design reviews, code evaluations, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Required Skills \& Qualifications

• **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience focusing on backend technologies.
• **Core Java \& Frameworks:** Deep expertise in Java (Java 11 or higher preferred) and the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security).
• **Cloud \& Container Orchestration:** Solid, hands\-on production experience managing workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
• **API Development:** Proven track record of designing, building, and documenting high\-throughput RESTful APIs.
• **Testing:** Strong commitment to software quality through writing comprehensive Unit and Integration tests using JUnit/Mockito.
• **Tools:** Deep understanding of Git, Maven or Gradle, and automated CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

Good to Have / Desired Knowledge

• **Database Management:** Practical experience working with **PostgreSQL** or similar RDBMS, including query optimization, indexing, and data modeling.
• **Messaging Systems:** Exposure to event\-driven architectures and streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical industry experience.
