Job Description
At R3, we are building the on\-ramp for the next trillion dollars of assets to move on\-chain, bridging the worlds of traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). We are launching institutional\-grade RWA yield vaults, fully composable and integrated into Solana DeFi. We are also the producers of Corda, the enterprise\-grade distributed ledger platform trusted by regulated financial institutions globally, built for the constraints of regulated finance: permissioned networks, deterministic consensus, and privacy by design.
- *About the Role**
- -----------------
This particular role sits on the Corda side of our mission, specifically within our project team working on Corda 4\. You'll be building and maintaining production\-grade software that regulated financial institutions rely on daily. We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Software Engineer who's eager to learn and get hands\-on with a different class of engineering problem, one built on distributed systems and deterministic finality, with reliability requirements at a scale you won't find in a typical web stack. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, participate in the full software development cycle, and get direct exposure to how financial institutions actually run DLT in production.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- -----------------------
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well\-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
- Collaborate with product managers, UI engineers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver new features.
- Assist in developing APIs, backend services, and dlt applications.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand\-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve technical skills.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate with client teams on a regular basis.
- *Required Skills/Experience**
- -----------------------------
- Knowledge of programming language such as Java and Kotlin.
- Understanding of object\-oriented programming principles and common design patterns.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and writing efficient source code.
- Familiarity with databases and basic SQL.
- Understanding of data structures and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience using Git or another version control system.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and web application development.
- Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Prior client\-facing experience e.g. direct interaction with client
- *Preferred Skills/Experience**
- ------------------------------
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Blockchain technologies such as Corda DLT.
- Domain experience in financial services, banking, capital markets, or fintech.
