• *About the Role**

As a Software Test Engineer (AmTS), you are responsible for verifying ECU software and E/E system functions using the Automotive Test Suite (AmTS) as the standardized BMW test framework. You ensure repeatable, automated and CI\-ready software testing and provide objective quality evidence for release decisions in accordance with BMW processes and SP2025 requirements.

• *Your Responsibilities**

• Ensure requirement\-based verification of E/E system functions using the Automotive Test Suite (AmTS).
• Create, execute, and maintain automated ECU test cases and AmTS\-specific test data.
• Apply AmTS as a one\-fits\-all test framework replacing heterogeneous test tools.
• Ensure standardized test specifications and uniform, analyzable test reports.
• Act as a quality gate by identifying defects, assessing risks, and supporting release readiness.

• *Tasks and Key Activities**

• Set up and configure the AmTS test environment including ECU\-TEST, drivers, interfaces and power supply control.
• Execute automated ECU tests via CAN FD, FlexRay and Ethernet interfaces.
• Work with ECU\-specific AmTS test data bundles (flash files, coding data, certificates, tokens, ODX, message catalogs).
• Integrate AmTS test execution into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Analyze test results, review deviations and document outcomes in standardized test reports.
• Deliver test results and AmTS reports via defined BMW delivery channels and support defect resolution with development and integration teams.

• Decide on test execution order and prioritization within the AmTS framework.
• Evaluate test results and determine software maturity and release readiness.
• Reject unclear, contradictory, or non\-testable requirements.
• Escalate quality risks, blocking issues, and test gaps to project and quality stakeholders.

• *What You Bring**

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
• Solid experience with Python scripting.
• Experience in embedded software testing and automated ECU validation.
• Solid understanding of E/E system functions, ECU architectures and test processes.
• Experience with test automation tools and structured test methods.
• Strong analytical mindset, quality orientation and clear technical communication skills.

• *Desirable**

• Experience with Automotive Test Suite (AmTS) and ECU\-TEST.
• Knowledge of CI/CD\-based test execution and continuous testing.
• Familiarity with BAC\-confirm test plans and ECU integration environments.
