Software Test Engineer

• *Job Summary**

A Manual Tester or QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through thorough testing and analysis. They manually execute test cases, identify bugs, and collaborate with developers to ensure the final product meets the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review and understand project requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Design, document, and execute manual test cases for web, mobile, or desktop applications.

Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and usability testing.

Identify, log, and track defects/bugs using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Trello.

Work closely with the development team to reproduce and resolve issues.

Participate in test planning, test case review, and test execution cycles.

Ensure that software meets business, functional, and performance requirements.

Prepare test summary reports and communicate test results to stakeholders.

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle (DLC)

Proficiency in test case creation, execution, and documentation

Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies

Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestLink, Zephyr)

Good understanding of web, API, and mobile testing concepts

Strong analytical, communication, and problem\-solving skills

Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation

Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman

Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Selenium) for future career growth

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.) is a plus

Good understanding of web, API, and mobile testing concepts

Strong analytical, communication, and problem\-solving skillls

Optional (Good to Have)

Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation

Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman
