Solar Engineer

• *Job DescriptionJob Title:** Solar Engineer (Residential)

• *Location:** Chennai / Site Locations

• *Experience:**

A minimum of **3–5 years** in Solar PV projects

Must have hands\-on experience in **residential solar projects** *(not only commercial/industrial projects)*

• *Salary:**

Industry Standard *(Negotiable based on experience)*

• *Job Responsibilities:**

• Design, plan, and execute **Solar PV systems** (On\-grid / Off\-grid / Hybrid)
• Conduct **site surveys, feasibility studies, and system sizing** *(especially for residential projects)*
• Prepare **technical drawings, layouts, and BOQ**
• Supervise **installation, commissioning, and testing** of solar plants
• Coordinate with **vendors, installers, and project teams**
• Ensure compliance with **MNRE / DISCOM / safety standards**
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide **technical support**
• Prepare **project reports and documentation**

• *Residential Project Focus:**

• Handle **independent house / villa solar installations**
• Experience in **rooftop residential systems (1kW–10kW typical range)**
• Knowledge of **net metering process for home users**
• Ability to guide customers on **subsidy (if applicable) and approvals**

• *Business Development \& Marketing:**

• Generate **leads for residential solar projects** through site visits, references, and client interaction
• Promote **company services to individual homeowners**
• Support **sales \& marketing activities** with technical inputs
• Assist in **client meetings, proposals, and technical discussions**

• *Team Management \& Training:**

• Lead and manage **site technicians and installation teams**
• Provide **technical training and on\-site guidance**
• Ensure proper execution and quality at project sites

• *Key Skills \& Requirements:**

• Strong knowledge of **Solar PV systems and residential installations**
• Experience in **AutoCAD / PVsyst** *(preferred)*
• Understanding of **inverters, protection systems, and wiring for homes**
• Ability to handle **clients directly (homeowners)**
• Knowledge of **lead generation and business promotion**
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to **handle projects independently**

• *Education:**

• BE / BTech / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy

• *Preferred:**

• Experience in **rooftop residential solar projects**
• Knowledge of **net metering, EB approvals, and subsidy process**
• An existing **local client network / leads** is an added advantage
