WHAT YOU’LL DO

Startup Research \& Evaluation

• Research early stage startups across sectors to assess the problem being solved, customer need, value proposition, and differentiation.
• Review startup applications, business plans, business models, revenue streams, pricing, and financial projections.
• Assess the viability, scalability, execution readiness, and key risks of startup ideas and businesses. Founder Discussions \& Due Diligence • Conduct initial and follow up discussions with founders to understand their vision, business processes, traction, challenges, and growth plans.
• Ask structured questions, listen actively, and gather relevant information to validate assumptions and identify gaps.
• Document founder conversations and key findings to support consistent evaluation. Market \& Competitive Analysis
• Conduct market research to understand target segments, customer demand, industry trends, and market dynamics.
• Assess market size and growth potential, map competitors, and evaluate positioning and competitive advantages.
• Identify market risks, business model dependencies, and opportunities for growth. Financial \& Business Analysis
• Analyse available business and financial data, including revenue, costs, unit economics, projections, and key performance indicators.
• Evaluate monetisation models, growth assumptions, and potential scalability using structured, data driven analysis.
• Use spreadsheets and relevant analytical tools to organise findings and support evidence based recommendations. Reporting \& Investment Recommendations
• Prepare concise evaluation notes, reports, and presentations summarising startup strengths, concerns, risks, and open questions.
• Present findings and recommendations to the PedalStart team to support accelerator selection and investment discussions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to compare opportunities and support timely, well reasoned decisions.

WHO YOU ARE

• 2 to 3 years of professional experience; experience in a startup, consulting, finance, research, or business analysis role is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of business fundamentals, business models, financial analysis, and market research.
• Strong research skills and the ability to find, validate, interpret, and synthesise information from multiple sources.
• Analytical and problem solving ability, with proficiency in data analysis tools and spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and stakeholder management skills.
• Genuine interest in startups, entrepreneurship, and the Indian startup ecosystem.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and accommodating extended working hours when required.

Pay: ₹800,000\.00 \- ₹1,200,000\.00 per year
