Position Summary

The Head – Tendering / Contract \& Estimation is responsible for leading the complete tendering, estimation, and proposal management function for wind energy projects. The role involves preparing competitive techno\-commercial bids, commercial strategy, optimizing project costs, managing bid risks, coordinating with cross\-functional teams, and ensuring timely submission of high\-quality proposals that align with business objectives and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Management

Lead end\-to\-end tendering activities for domestic and international wind \& Solar energy projects.

Review RFQs, RFPs, EPC tenders, and customer specifications.

Develop bid strategies to maximize competitiveness while maintaining profitability.

Ensure timely submission of technically compliant and commercially competitive proposals.

Coordinate with customers during pre\-bid meetings and clarification stages.

Estimation \& Costing

Prepare accurate project cost estimates for EPC, Balance of Plant (BoP), electrical systems, substations, transmission lines, and civil works.

Analyse project scope, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.

Develop detailed BOQs and cost models.

Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.

Optimize project costs through value engineering and innovative solutions.

Commercial \& Contract Management

Review tender terms and conditions and identify commercial risks.

Support contract negotiations with customers and partners.

Ensure compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.

Prepare commercial deviations and negotiate favorable contract terms.

Cross\-functional Coordination

Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, Legal, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Business Development teams.

Coordinate with OEMs, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors during bid preparation.

Facilitate internal bid review meetings and management approvals.

Risk Assessment

Identify technical, commercial, financial, and execution risks.

Develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies.

Conduct sensitivity analysis for project costing and profitability.

Process Improvement

Develop standardized estimation methodologies and bid processes.

Maintain historical cost databases and benchmarking tools.

Implement digital estimation tools and best practices.

Drive continuous improvement in bid accuracy and turnaround time.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the tendering and estimation team.

Allocate responsibilities and monitor performance.

Build a high\-performance culture focused on quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.

Master's degree/MBA is preferred.

Certification in Project Management, Contract Management, or Cost Engineering is an added advantage.

Experience 15\+ years of experience in Tendering, Estimation, or Commercial functions.

Minimum 8–10 years in the renewable energy or wind energy sector.

Proven experience in EPC bidding, Balance of Plant (BoP), substations, transmission systems, and utility\-scale wind projects. Experience handling large\-value infrastructure projects and multi\-disciplinary bids.

Pay: ₹15,000\.00 \- ₹60,000\.00 per month
