Job Title: Textile Designer – Home Furnishing

• *Job Overview**

We are looking for a creative, detail\-oriented, and passionate **Textile Designer** specializing in **Home Furnishings** to join our Product Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative textile collections across categories such as bed linen, bath linen, curtains, cushion covers, table linens, and upholstery.

You will closely collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to translate global home decor trends into commercially viable, high\-quality textile products.

• *Key Responsibilities \& Job Duties**1\. **Concept \& Trend Forecasting**

• Conduct market research, trend analysis, and mood board creation for upcoming seasons (Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter).
• Forecast color palettes, print directions, weave patterns, and surface embellishments tailored for home interior markets.

2\. **Design \& Product Development**

• Develop artwork, repeat prints, weave structures, and digital/screen prints for home textiles.
• Create tech packs, spec sheets, and colorways (lab dip options) for factory execution.
• Design for multiple categories:
• **Bed \& Bath:** Duvet covers, bedsheets, quilts/comforters, towels.
• **Top of Bed \& Living:** Cushion covers, throws, curtains, rugs.
• **Kitchen \& Table:** Tablecloths, runners, placemats, napkins.

3\. **Sampling \& Execution**

• Coordinate with yarn suppliers, weavers, printers, and embroidery vendors to develop initial samples.
• Inspect physical swatches, lab dips, strike\-offs, and pre\-production samples for print clarity, color accuracy, hand\-feel, and fabric construction.
• Approve final physical samples before bulk production hand\-off.

4\. **Fabrication \& Technical Alignment**

• Work with various fabrics and finishes (cotton, linen, jacquards, velvets, slubs, stonewash, yarn\-dyeds).
• Ensure designs align with target price points, factory capabilities, and buyer compliance standards.

• *Key Requirements \& Qualifications**

• **Education:** Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fashion/Apparel Design (NIFT, NID, or equivalent institute preferred).
• **Experience:** 5 to 8 years of experience in home furnishing textile design (export house, retail brand, or buying agency).
• **Technical Skills:**
• Proficiency in CAD software (**Adobe Photoshop**, **Adobe Illustrator**, NedGraphics, or TexPro).
• In\-depth understanding of woven structures, print repeat mechanisms, dye techniques, embroidery styles, and fabric finishing.
• Strong knowledge of fabric costing impact based on design complexity.
• **Soft Skills:**
• Strong visual aesthetic and eye for home interior trends.
• Excellent communication skills for vendor and cross\-functional team coordination.
• Ability to work against tight seasonal delivery timelines.
