VMC Programmer

Job Description (JD) – VMC / CNC Programmer Job Title : VMC/CNC Programmer Department : Production / Tool Room / Machining Reporting To : Production Engineer / Plant Head Location : Irungattukottai Purpose of the Role To create, optimize, and manage CNC machining programs for VMC/CNC machines, ensuring quality, productivity, and timely production as per customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Programming **Develop CNC programs for VMC/CNC machines using CAD/CAM software.** Prepare and optimize machining strategies for new and existing components. **Generate tool paths, setup sheets, and machining process documents.** Modify programs to improve cycle time and productivity. Production Support **Support machine operators during setup and trial runs.** Troubleshoot machining issues and provide corrective actions. **Ensure programs meet dimensional and quality requirements.** Monitor machine performance and suggest improvements. Process Improvement **Reduce cycle time through program optimization.** Improve tool life and machining efficiency. **Implement continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.** Standardize machining processes and documentation.Quality Control **Verify component dimensions as per drawings.** Ensure adherence to GD\&T, tolerances, and customer specifications. **Coordinate with Quality Department for first\-off approval.** Support corrective and preventive actions for machining defects. Tool Management **Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work\-holding devices.** Maintain tool data and tool offset records. **Recommend new tooling for productivity improvement. Documentation** Maintain program backup and revision control. **Update process sheets, setup instructions, and work standards.** Maintain records of program changes and improvements. Safety \& Compliance **Follow safety procedures and company policies.** Ensure safe machining practices and proper use of PPE. **Support 5S implementation in the machining area. Qualification** Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field. **Certification in CNC Programming or CAD/CAM preferred. Experience** 3 to 8 years of experience in VMC/CNC Programming. **Experience in AutoCAD, Mastercam, SolidCAM, Powermill, NX CAM, or similar software.** Experience in precision machining and production environments

Pay: ₹25,000\.00 \- ₹60,000\.00 per month

Work Location: In person
