Wordpress Developer

• *JOB ROLE:**

The client is looking for an experienced WordPress developer with strong technical expertise. This role involves building, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress sites across a variety of industries, including e\-commerce. The ideal candidate has deep experience within the WordPress ecosystem, strong coding abilities, and the capability to manage both front\-end and back\-end development tasks.

• *Work Hours**

This is a remote position. Candidates should be able to work a standard 8\-hour workday with at least half of those hours overlapping with the client’s morning schedule, approximately 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. US Eastern Time.

• *Key Responsibilities**

1\. Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress sites using both custom themes and page builders.

2\. Build and enhance e\-commerce functionality using WooCommerce and related tools.

3\. Write clean, secure, well\-structured code for both front\-end and back\-end development.

4\. Integrate APIs, automate tasks, and manage technical configurations across the WordPress stack.

5\. Troubleshoot performance issues, security risks, and plugin or theme conflicts.

6\. Optimize websites for technical SEO, site speed, and overall performance.

7\. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high\-quality work in a timely manner.

• *Requirements**

1\. Extensive experience developing with WordPress, including deep knowledge of core functions, template hierarchy, hooks, and custom post types.

2\. Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, and WordPress\-related frameworks.

3\. E\-commerce experience, particularly with WooCommerce.

4\. Comfortable working with both custom themes and common page builders.

5\. Strong understanding of technical SEO best practices.

6\. Experience integrating third\-party APIs and working with databases or automation tools.

7\. Ability to work independently within a remote team environment.

8\. Strong problem\-solving skills and attention to detail.

• *Nice\-to\-Have Skills**

1\. Familiarity with UX concepts and an ability to collaborate with design teams.

2\. Experience in publishing, media, or high\-traffic content environments.

3\. Knowledge of Gutenberg block development.

4\. Experience with DevOps workflows or deployment pipelines.
