Job Description
The Works Manager – Commercial Vehicle Division is responsible for the overall management and operation of the commercial vehicle workshop. The position involves managing workshop activities, service operations, technician performance, customer satisfaction, quality control, productivity, and profitability of the division.
Key Responsibilities1\. Workshop Operations
- Manage the day\-to\-day operations of the commercial vehicle workshop.
- Ensure smooth and efficient vehicle service and repair activities.
- Plan and allocate jobs to technicians according to their skills and workload.
- Monitor vehicle movement, job progress, and timely delivery.
- Ensure proper utilization of workshop facilities, tools, equipment, and manpower.
2\. Team Management
- Supervise and guide technicians, service advisors, supervisors, and other workshop staff.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide necessary guidance and training.
- Identify training requirements and improve the technical skills of the workshop team.
3\. Customer Service
- Ensure customer complaints and service issues are handled promptly.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve escalated complaints.
- Ensure proper communication with customers regarding repair status, estimated costs, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and professional conduct.
4\. Quality Control
- Ensure all repair and service work is completed according to company and manufacturer standards.
- Conduct quality checks before vehicle delivery.
- Minimize repeat repairs, rework, and customer complaints.
- Ensure proper diagnosis of vehicle problems and effective corrective action.
5\. Productivity and Performance
- Monitor daily workshop productivity and technician efficiency.
- Achieve monthly workshop targets and business objectives.
- Monitor job card opening, closing, pending jobs, and vehicle turnaround time.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports to management.
6\. Spare Parts and Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with the Spare Parts Department to ensure timely availability of required parts.
- Monitor parts requirements for ongoing repair jobs.
- Minimize delays caused by non\-availability of spare parts.
- Ensure proper control and utilization of workshop consumables and materials.
7\. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and workshop safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Ensure proper use of safety equipment and tools.
- Monitor compliance with applicable statutory and operational requirements.
8\. Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate with the Sales, Service, Spare Parts, Accounts, and Management teams.
- Maintain regular communication with company and manufacturer representatives, wherever required.
- Submit regular reports on workshop performance, productivity, pending jobs, customer complaints, and operational issues.
- Immediately report major technical, operational, or customer\-related issues to management.

Job Requirements
- Diploma / ITI / Degree in Automobile Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Relevant experience in commercial vehicle workshop operations.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle service, repair, diagnostics, and workshop management.
- Good leadership, communication, coordination, and problem\-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a team and achieve operational targets.
Authority and Accountability
The Works Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall performance, productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, discipline, and operational efficiency of the Commercial Vehicle Division.
Pay: ₹25,000\.00 \- ₹32,000\.00 per month
