Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• **Financial Reporting:** Prepare and publish accurate periodic financial statements (income statements, cash flow, and balance sheets).
• **Bookkeeping \& Reconciliation:** Manage the general ledger, process accounts payable/receivable, and reconcile bank and credit card statements.
• **Compliance \& Tax:** Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations (e.g., GAAP or IFRS standards).
• **Budgeting \& Forecasting:** Assist management in developing operational budgets, tracking expenses, and reporting variances.
• **Auditing:** Conduct internal audits and provide required documentation and assistance during external audits.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• **Technical Software Skills:** Proficiency in accounting and financial software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or Tally, as well as advanced spreadsheet capabilities (e.g., Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• **Analytical Mindset:** High attention to detail with the ability to identify numerical errors, spot discrepancies, and manage complex quantitative data.
• **Education \& Credentials:** Typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or commerce. Advanced certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) are highly preferred for career advancement.
