Job Description

A Networking Cabling Manager oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of physical network infrastructure (fiber/copper), managing vendors, project budgets, and timelines. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with industry standards, supervising cabling technicians, conducting site surveys, and producing documentation for data center or office builds. They require 3\+ years of experience, strong technical knowledge of structured cabling, and project management skills.

*Key Responsibilities**

**Project Management:** Plan, execute, and deliver network cabling projects on time and within budget.
**Installation \& Design:** Oversee the installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper cabling (e.g., Cat6, Cat6a).
**Vendor/Team Management:** Manage onsite installation teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with standards.
**Site Surveys \& Planning:** Conduct site surveys to determine project requirements, materials, and infrastructure needs.
**Compliance \& Safety:** Ensure all installations adhere to building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
**Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of cable pathways, labeling, and network port configurations.

*Qualifications and Skills**

**Experience:** 3\+ years in network cabling, infrastructure, or a similar role.
**Technical Skills:** Proficient in structured cabling systems, fiber optics, troubleshooting, and network hardware (routers, switches).
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or relevant field preferred (or equivalent experience).
**Certifications:** BICSI certifications (RCDD), CCNA, or Network\+ are often preferred.
**Soft Skills:** Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
