Job Summary

The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for the **overall maintenance, safety, availability and proper functioning of biomedical equipment** across Amcare Hospital. The role includes preventive and breakdown maintenance, calibration, AMC/CMC management, vendor coordination, equipment documentation and support for NABH compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all biomedical equipment across **ICU, Emergency, OT, NICU, Wards, Laboratory, Radiology, Dialysis and other departments**.
• Conduct scheduled **Preventive Maintenance (PM)** and ensure timely completion.
• Attend equipment breakdowns and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot medical equipment and coordinate with authorized service engineers/vendors when required.
• Maintain complete **equipment inventory, asset records, service history and maintenance logs**.
• Monitor and maintain **AMC, CMC and warranty** records and renewal schedules.
• Coordinate equipment **installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and handover**.
• Coordinate calibration of equipment and maintain calibration certificates.
• Ensure critical equipment is safe, functional and available for patient care.
• Maintain records of breakdowns, downtime, repairs, PM and calibration.
• Coordinate with vendors for quotations, spare parts, repairs and technical services.
• Support procurement by providing technical specifications and evaluating biomedical equipment.
• Train nursing and clinical staff on the **safe and proper use of medical equipment**.
• Identify faulty/unsafe equipment and ensure it is removed from clinical use until repaired.
• Maintain documentation required for **NABH and hospital quality audits**.
• Monitor recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain adequate stock of essential spares and accessories.
• Prepare periodic reports on equipment status, PM compliance, breakdowns and downtime.
• Coordinate with clinical departments regarding equipment complaints and requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by hospital management.

Candidate Profile

• **B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Biomedical Engineering** or equivalent.
• **2–5 years of hospital biomedical engineering experience preferred.**
• Strong practical knowledge of medical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of **PM, calibration, AMC/CMC and vendor management**.
• NABH documentation experience will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and equipment documentation.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle emergency breakdown calls.
• Responsible, systematic and safety\-conscious approach.
