The **Business Development Executive (BDE)** in the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, supporting market expansion initiatives, and helping achieve revenue and growth targets. The role includes prospecting, lead generation, market research, and coordination with internal teams to support commercial goals.
Lead Generation \& Client Acquisition
- Identify and qualify **new business leads** through market research, networking, cold outreach, and referrals.
- Build and maintain a **pipeline of prospective clients**, including distributors, healthcare institutions, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and potential partners.
- Conduct **outbound sales activities**, including calls, emails, and field visits, to generate interest and convert prospects into business opportunities.
Market Research \& Analysis
- Conduct **market research** to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities specific to pharmaceutical products and services.
- Monitor feedback from the field and provide insights to the internal teams to shape strategy and product positioning.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and sustain **strong relationships** with existing customers by understanding their business needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve queries and maintain ongoing engagement.
Proposal Development \& Negotiation
- Prepare and present **business proposals, product portfolios, and pitch decks** tailored to client requirements.
- Support negotiations and contract discussions to secure favourable business agreements.
Reporting \& Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, lead status, client interactions, and sales pipelines in CRM systems.
- Prepare and submit regular **reports on market insights, pipeline forecasts, and progress against targets** to senior management.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as leads generated, deals closed, revenue contribution, and client acquisition metrics.
Collaboration \& Cross‑Functional Support
- Coordinate with **Marketing, Product, Regulatory, and Supply Chain** teams to enhance client proposals, ensure compliance, and support product launches.
- Support execution of promotional activities, events, and webinars to boost brand visibility and business prospects.
- *Qualifications \& Experience**
Education
- **Bachelor’s degree** in **Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm)**, **Life Sciences**, **Business Administration**, **Marketing**, or a related field.
- A science background (B.Sc/M.Sc) with strong commercial acumen is a plus.
Experience
- **2–4 years** of experience in business development, sales, or related roles — preferably in the **pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, or healthcare sector**.
- Freshers with relevant internships and strong communication skills may also be considered.
- *Compulsory Requirements (Must Have)**
- 3–5 years of experience in business development or sales within pharma or healthcare industry
- Proven experience in **client acquisition and revenue generation**
- Strong understanding of at least one business model: **PCD / Institutional / Third\-Party Manufacturing / Export**
- Practical exposure to **pharma commercial processes, pricing, and negotiations**
- Ability to independently manage the full sales cycle (lead generation to closure and collections)
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development activities
Pay: ₹30,000\.00 \- ₹45,000\.00 per month
