- *Recruited by: Sri Kumaran Children’s Home Educational Council \| Bengaluru**
About the Sri Kumaran Group of Institutions
The Sri Kumaran Group of Institutions is one of South Bengaluru’s oldest and largest school groups. It has grown over six decades and four generations of family stewardship from a single SSLC building at Tata Silk Farm. Today it educates about 8,300 students across seven campuses under the State, CBSE and ICSE boards. Our values are Sincerity, Kinship, Commitment and Integrity, and Harmony. A school of this size is also a substantial physical estate, and safe, clean, well\-run campuses are part of what parents trust us with. You can find more information about us at www.kumarans.org.
Reports to: Deputy Director, with a secondary reporting line to the campus Principals
About the role
The Facility Coordinator owns campus readiness. They ensure the campus is safe, secure, clean, compliant, and ready every working day, and that it recovers quickly and orderly when something fails. The role leads the campus support workforce: housekeeping, maintenance and gardening staff, and outsourced service providers. It supervises qualified contractors and ensures each problem is fixed properly. You don’t need to be a technical expert in every system. You do need to check things personally, keep accurate records and escalate promptly.
Key responsibilities
· **Campus readiness:** Run opening and closing rounds every day: classrooms, toilets, drinking water, essential systems, fire exits and security posts. Barricade or isolate any hazard before students arrive.
· **Support staff:** Brief and deploy housekeeping, maintenance and gardening teams. Assign each zone to a named person, manage rosters and cover, train staff, and maintain discipline fairly and respectfully.
· **Maintenance:** Run a preventive\-maintenance calendar and a defect register. Carry out pre\- and post\-monsoon inspections, use vacations for major works, and supervise civil and engineering repairs.
· **Safety and compliance:** Keep fire NOCs, electrical and lift certification, water testing, pest control, food safety, barrier\-free access and insurance current through a compliance calendar.
· **Security:** Oversee the security agency, gate and visitor control, CCTV and key control. Support safe arrival and dispersal with the transport team.
· **Emergencies:** Keep the campus ready for fire, medical, utility and security emergencies. Run drills and act as ground coordinator during incidents under the Principal’s lead.
· **Stores and procurement:** Maintain asset and inventory registers, compare vendor proposals on quality and total cost, inspect deliveries, and manage lawful scrap disposal.
· **Vendors:** Manage outsourced services against agreed scopes and service levels. Verify manpower, check invoices against work actually done, and track AMCs and renewals.
· **Utilities and events:** Monitor and reduce electricity, water and fuel use. Plan the facilities and logistics for examinations, sports days, annual days and other large events.
What we’re looking for
· A graduate qualification. A technical, engineering, administration or facilities\-management background is an advantage.
· At least 10 years in facilities, estates, administration, engineering support, security or institutional operations, including at least 5 years running a site and supervising a support workforce.
· Experience in a large institutional, campus, hospital, hotel, industrial or cantonment environment is strongly desirable.
· Working English for reporting, and fluent Kannada and/or Hindi for directing on\-site staff.
· Comfortable with MS Excel, Word and digital ticketing or facilities\-management systems.
· A safety\-first mindset, the habit of checking personally rather than accepting a verbal assurance, integrity in procurement and stores, and calm judgement under pressure.
· Physically fit for daily walking inspections across the campus, and available beyond school hours for emergencies, examinations and events.
Retired Armed Forces personnel are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with Quartermaster, unit or station administration, ASC, AOC, EME, MES or Defence Security Corps experience.
What we offer
· Salary commensurate with experience and competence, with all relevant benefits
· A key safety role in a respected institution with six decades of history
· Professional growth through KATALYST, Kumarans’ competency\-based development framework for operations staff
