The Jr/Sr. Engineer (Pre\-Construction) will support the project team in stabilizing site execution by providing accurate quantity take\-offs, BOQ verification, and technical coordination across RCC, Mivan shuttering, finishing, and basic MEP interface works. You will play a key role in setting up site processes, supporting construction planning and methodology, and enabling cost control through data\-driven quantity and rate analysis. This role directly impacts reduction of rework, improved quality, and smoother execution once the project moves into full construction.
- Prepare detailed quantity take\-offs and support BOQ verification for RCC, Mivan/aluform shuttering, masonry (if applicable), finishing, and basic MEP interface items in line with drawings and specifications.
- Provide inputs for construction methodology, work sequencing, and pre\-construction planning, coordinating closely with the planning and site execution teams.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and services drawings; identify discrepancies or clashes and raise timely RFIs/technical queries with consultants and client representatives.
- Support preparation of cost comparison statements, basic rate analysis, and quantity\-based cost control reports using MS Excel to aid management decision\-making.
- Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and vendors during pre\-construction for technical clarifications, material confirmations, and constructability inputs, especially for Mivan works.
- Assist in setting up and standardizing site documentation and processes related to quantities, drawing control, revisions, and pre\-construction approvals to reduce rework and quality issues.
- Contribute to look\-ahead planning, interface with planning tools (MS Project/Primavera P6 as applicable), and ensure alignment of quantities and methodology with the project schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
Essential requirements
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 3\-5 years of experience in building projects, preferably high\-rise residential
- Hands\-on experience in quantity take\-off and BOQ verification for RCC, finishing and basic MEP interface works
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and services drawings and identify discrepancies or clashes
- Exposure to pre\-construction activities such as construction planning inputs, methodology statements and work sequencing
- Strong MS Excel skills for quantity calculations, rate analysis support and basic cost comparison statements
- Experience coordinating with site execution teams, consultants and vendors for technical clarifications during pre\-construction
- Willingness to work full\-time from site/HO near Hadapsar, Pune and visit site regularly as required
- Experience in Mivan is must.
Bonus qualifications
- Prior experience working with an EPC contractor on high\-rise residential projects
- Basic understanding of construction contracts, tender documents and technical specifications
- Basic understanding of construction contracts, tender documents and technical specifications
- Exposure to preparing bar bending schedules (BBS) and reconciliation support
- Familiarity with local Pune municipal norms and approvals related to high\-rise residential projects
