Job Description

  • *Overview**
  • *Local Job title :** Compliance Verification Engineer\-Product (CVE\-P)
  • *Role purpose:** The CVE\-P in this critical role, will ensure GKN products meet stringent regulatory (EASA, FAA), safety, and customer requirements, contributing to the certification and production of world\-class aircraft engine parts. The focus will be on the static load\-carrying structures that form the backbone of our customers’ engines in production and service.

The CVE\-P is expected to chair or review compliance assessments for next\-generation demonstrators and ensure GKN designs meet all regulatory and safety standards from early concept through full\-scale development and certification.

  • *Key Roles \& Responsibilities**
  • The Compliance Verification Engineer\-Product (CVE\-P) is responsible to Head of Design for the classification of compiled data as acceptable or unacceptable.
  • CVE\-P in his role is responsible for reviewing DQA (Design Quality Assurance), product requirements, verifying compliance of products in an independent review taking help of experts.
  • CVE\-P in his role will also verify changes to GKN Design Data within the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • CVE\-P is responsible to prepare and approve documentation to support product certification and regulatory compliance.
  • CVE\-P is required to stay updated on aviation regulations (e.g., EASA Part 21, FAA, AS9100\) and apply them to product development.
  • CVE\-P in his role is responsible for establishing engineering data package, be part of CDR, DDR and concept reviews.
  • CVE\-P will hold design responsibility or delegated design authority in accordance with Type Certificate Holder, OEM, and organizational guidelines.
  • CVE\-P should define and establish design requirements, standards, and compliance frameworks for assigned products.
  • CVE\-P should prepare and present technical summaries, engineering reports, and conclusions, supporting product compliance and certification.
  • CVE\-P in his role should work closely with cross\-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, certification, and program management) to ensure successful product delivery and compliance.
  • *Key Skills \& Competencies**
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and product lifecycle management.
  • **Expertise in design verification, validation methods, and compliance processes.**
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical standards, regulatory requirements, and OEM guidelines.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools (CAD/CAE, analysis tools, manufacturing processes etc.).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem\-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross\-functional and globally distributed team environment.
  • Familiarity with design assurance, certification, and compliance processes.
  • *Always ensure alignment with:**

oUnderstand product design intent \& design risk management clearly

o Act as authority in all design gates reviews

o Provide technical rationale, safety justification and compliance evidence

o Point of contact to all decision concerning new/updated requirements/ GKN design data o Create preliminary verification plan based on GKN design data

o Be part of Flight Worthiness Review (FWR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Concepts Review, Pre\-studies Review (PSR), Product Launch Review (PLR), Test Readiness Review (TRR) and Production Qualification Review (PQR)

o Finalize engineering data package for any GKN design data/Product Development initiative

o Make sure structural integrity

o Prepare requirement documents. Document design verification.

o Prepare/update product failure and safety analysis

o Evaluate impact of proposed change and make decision

o Implement decided design changes in product definition

  • *Compliance \& Certification Accountability**
  • Ensure compliance with: **FAA / EASA regulations** AS9100 and OEM standards **Support audits, certification reviews, and customer interactions** Approves the product definition \& all technical analysis reports **Participate in all the review gates. Connecting to program road map** Participate in product reviews
  • *Data\-Driven Improvement \& RCA**
  • **Involve in Brilliant Basics connecting to organization KPI.**
  • **Own couple of actions that adds huge value to the organization**
  • Lead Root Cause \& Corrective Action (RCCA) using: o 8D, DMAIC, A3, FMEA
  • **Identify and eliminate systemic issues**

  • *Person specification**

**General**

Must possess a high level of engineering functional knowledge (typically Technical Excellence Framework level 4 or higher in an appropriate Area of Expertise) and experience across multiple disciplines to successfully manage/guide the project/programme technical team.

Must possess the highest level of technical project leadership as the role is accountable for the competing parameters of technical quality (Safety/Airworthiness) as well as project schedule.

Must possess the highest level of problem\-solving skills in both technical and programme management disciplines to successfully manage the technical direction of the project and support the overall business objectives of the programme.

The role requires the highest level of interpersonal skills – see below for details of skills and personal attributes required.

**Essential**

Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in (Mechanical/ Aerospace) Engineering or equivalent working and thinking Level gained through experience.

  • *At least 15\+ years of relevant experience gained within an engineering discipline, ideally within an aerospace environment and in multi\-disciplinary engineering project teams (Design, Aerodynamics, Aerothermal, Solid mechanics, all type of Analysis, Manufacturing \& Industrialization).**
  • *At least 10\+ years product development experience. Knowledge of Airworthiness requirements from a DOA perspective.**

Knowledge of classification of product and characteristics.

Knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g. EASA, FAA, AS9100\) and airworthiness standard

This role shall be attached to the authorization application and responsible to Head of Design for the classification of compiled data Extensive experience with Negotiation with external stakeholder regarding rebalancing requirements.

Also handling of the proposed requirements change Solid approach/understanding to the delivery and tracking of engineering tasks.

Identification of relevant risks assessed and mitigates as planned and documented in DFMEA Able to work with cross\-functional Teams that will typically include (in addition to the Design Engineering Team) Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Commercial.

Procurement, Quality and Suppliers. Has excellent judgement in considering when escalation is appropriate.

Ability to clearly present data, reports and presentations to facilitate the decision\-making process at all levels of the business.

Should have prior experience of being part of design gate review in the role of technical reviewer Should have prior experience of being part of team working on concepts for new product development Strong minded, convincing and committed, focussed on delivery, must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Should have prior experience have having handled AOG’s and product non\-conformances and escapes.

**Desirable**

Having worked in multi\-cultural, multi\-disciplinary teams in an international setting.
