Join EY and help to build a better working world. **Assistant Manager – GDS Data Risk Management** The Assistant Manager supports the execution and coordination of Data Risk activities within GDS. The role focuses on operational delivery, monitoring, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring Global frameworks and policies are applied consistently and escalated appropriately. **The opportunity:** This role plays a critical execution and coordination role in strengthening Data Risk Management across GDS. The incumbent will support the delivery of global data, technology, AI/GenAI, and information security risk initiatives, working closely with cross functional stakeholders to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks. The role also enables first line teams through operational support, incident and exception management, and awareness initiatives to embed strong data protection and information governance practices. **Your key responsibilities require you to perform** * Data Risk Programme Execution + Support the implementation of Global initiatives and aligned data and security programmes at GDS. + Coordinate with stakeholders across Risk Management, GCO, Information Security, Technology, and Service Lines to support mitigation of: + Data Risk Management issues + AI / GenAI data risks + Data risks related to technology and information security + Track activities, dependencies, and progress, escalating issues as required. * Data Risk Identification \& Monitoring + Assist in identifying and documenting data risks at local and regional levels + Support monitoring of risk mitigation activities and track effectiveness against defined controls and standards. + Maintain risk logs, dashboards, and reporting to support management oversight. * First Line Enablement \& Operational Support + Support the operationalisation of data risk controls + Assist teams with the adoption of Global tools, templates, and processes + Provide operational support to technology and information security initiatives aimed at strengthening data protection controls. * Data Incident \& Insider Threat Support + Support activities related to prevention, detection, and response for data incidents, including Insider Threat events. + Assist with coordination, documentation, and follow ups for incidents in line with enterprise procedures. + Exception Management * Manage the day to day intake and coordination of exception requests, including: + Initial information gathering + Risk assessment support + Stakeholder coordination + Documentation and tracking + Monitor approved exceptions for compliance with conditions and flag deviations for corrective action. + Support governance forums and ensure timely closure of exceptions. + Facilitate cross functional reviews and maintain accurate records of approvals and decisions. * Information Governance \& Data Lifecycle Support + Provide advisory support on data retention and lifecycle requirements, helping teams interpret policies related to storage, archival, and disposal. + Support implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Records \& Information Management (RIM) programme, including: + Adoption tracking + Compliance checks + Issue identification and escalation * Awareness, Training \& Culture Enablement + Support the design and delivery of data risk and data protection awareness initiatives. + Assist with training logistics, communications, and tracking participation to strengthen secure data handling practices. * Stakeholder Coordination + Maintain effective working relationships with: + Risk Management + Information Security + Technology teams + Data Protection and Privacy stakeholders + Act as a coordination and execution point, escalating risks, issues, and decisions to senior stakeholders as required. **Skills and attributes for success** * Strong data risk and information security acumen, with working knowledge of data protection, technology risk, AI/GenAI data risks, and information governance principles. * Proven execution and coordination capability, able to operationalise controls, manage incidents and exceptions, track progress, and drive issues to closure across multiple workstreams. * Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, translating risk requirements into clear, actionable guidance and supporting governance and senior level forums. * High ownership and risk mindset, with attention to detail, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage sensitive information with integrity. **To qualify for the role, you must have** * * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Law, Risk Management, or a related discipline;
