#### **Job Summary**

We are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Database Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases. The candidate will be responsible for database design, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery, and high availability to ensure reliable and efficient database operations.

#### **Key Responsibilities**

• Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/pgSQL functions
• Perform database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and query optimization
• Implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Configure and manage database replication, clustering, and high availability
• Ensure database security, access controls, and data integrity
• Work closely with application developers and solution architects for database design and integration
• Support database migration, ETL processes, and data synchronization
• Monitor database health, capacity, and resource utilization
• Prepare database documentation and operational procedures

#### **Required Technical Skills**

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration and development
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL programming
• Good understanding of database architecture, schema design, indexing, and partitioning
• Experience in query execution plans, performance tuning, and optimization
• Knowledge of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
• Understanding of database backup, recovery, and replication mechanisms
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL high availability and disaster recovery concepts
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
• Understanding of database security, roles, privileges, and access management
• Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes

#### **Qualifications and Experience**

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2\+ years of hands\-on experience in PostgreSQL database management and development.
• Experience in database performance optimization and production support.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem\-solving skills.

#### **Preferred Skills**

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL automation and monitoring tools.
• Exposure to PostgreSQL replication and clustering solutions such as Patroni.
• Knowledge of connection pooling tools such as PgBouncer.
• Exposure to database migration, version upgrades, and large\-volume data handling.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and database CI/CD automation.
