Job Description – Manager\- Direct Taxation

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Manager – Direct Taxation to lead and manage direct tax compliance, advisory, and litigation matters for a diverse client portfolio. The role requires strong technical expertise in direct taxation, client management capabilities, and the ability to provide strategic tax solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage assignments related to Direct Tax compliance, including Income Tax Returns, TDS compliance, Advance Tax, and related filings.
• Review tax computations, returns, and other statutory filings to ensure compliance with the Income Tax Act, 1961\.
• Handle tax assessments, appeals, scrutiny proceedings, and represent clients before tax authorities.
• Provide advisory services on tax planning, business structuring, and transaction\-related tax matters.
• Draft and review submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representations for litigation matters.
• Stay updated with amendments in tax laws and evaluate their impact on clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
• Mentor and manage team members to ensure quality deliverables and efficient execution of assignments.

Desired Candidate ProfileQualification

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

Experience

• 5–8 years of post\-qualification experience in Direct Taxation with a reputed CA firm or consulting organization.

Skills \& Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Income Tax laws and direct tax compliance.
• Experience in handling tax assessments, appellate proceedings, and tax litigation.
• Working knowledge of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs) and International Taxation will be an added advantage.
• Excellent drafting, research, analytical, and problem\-solving skills.
• Strong communication, client management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
