Dy. Manager - CME Paint Shop

• *Responsibilities \& Key Deliverables**

The Paint Shop Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing painting processes to ensure high\-quality finishes, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role involves working closely with production, maintenance, quality, and suppliers to improve paint shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

• *1\. Process Development \& Optimization**

• Design, develop, and implement paint application processes for new and existing products.
• Optimize paint shop layouts, process flow, and work methods to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Evaluate and introduce new paint technologies, application equipment, and automation solutions.

• *2\. Equipment \& Tooling Management**

• Specify, procure, and validate paint shop equipment such as spray booths, ovens, conveyors, and robots.
• Plan preventive maintenance schedules to ensure reliable operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.

• *3\. Quality Assurance**

• Establish and monitor process parameters to maintain paint quality standards (Corrosion, UV Resistance, gloss, adhesion, finish).
• Work with Quality teams to ensure compliance with OEM quality standards.

• *4\. Cost \& Efficiency Improvements**

• Analyse paint material usage and identify cost\-reduction opportunities.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency.
• Monitor paint shop KPIs such as cycle time and energy usage.

• *5\. Safety \& Environmental Compliance**

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to VOCs, hazardous waste, and emissions.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety training for paint shop staff.

• *6\. Cross\-Functional Collaboration**

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects with paint process feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure paint\-friendly part designs.
• Coordinate with suppliers for paint materials, consumables, and equipment.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Paint, Chemical Engineering or related field**General Experience**

7\-10 Years**Critical Experience**

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of paint application systems, Familiarity with paint booth ventilation, curing ovens, and robotic spray systems. Understanding problem\-solving tools. Paint Development and Validation process
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, communication \& ability to work in Cross functional teams, Well verse with SAP System.
