Equity Research Analyst - (Leading Conglomerate)

• *Role Overview:**

The Equity Research Analyst is required to generate differentiated, high\-conviction investment ideas in direct equity stocks across sectors. In addition, the analyst will monitor and evaluate the firm//'s mutual fund and AIF investments, tracking performance and portfolio composition. The role involves conducting fundamental research, developing investment theses, building and maintaining financial models, tracking market, industry, and macroeconomic developments, and conducting primary research to generate proprietary insights.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• Generate differentiated, high\-conviction investment ideas in direct equity stocks through fundamental, bottom\-up research across sectors.

• Develop investment theses with a clear view on long\-term business quality, risk/reward, key catalysts, and variant perception versus consensus.
• Build and maintain financial models for companies in the portfolio and investment pipeline.
• Analyze various investment proposals across mutual funds and AIF space.
• Monitor the firm’s mutual fund investments — tracking performance, portfolio holdings, style and strategy drift, fund manager changes, and risk metrics
• Meet existing and potential companies and fund managers
• Track the broader coverage universe, monitoring earnings, management commentary, industry data, and macro developments.
• Present and defend investment recommendations to the investment team and the Board.
• Conduct primary research \- channel checks, expert calls, management meetings, conference and site visits \- to build proprietary insight.
• Maintain ongoing conviction monitoring on existing positions, proactively flagging changes to the thesis, valuation, or risk profile.
• Contribute to a rigorous, debate\-driven research culture, sharing ideas across the investment team.

• *Candidate//'s Profile:**

• Min 5\-7 years of experience in equity research, preferably on the buy\-side. Strong sell\-side candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; CFA candidature will be preferred.
