Job Overview

Shree Shyam Suppliers, dealing in electrical goods, industrial switchgear, panels, lighting, and earthing products, is looking for an experienced General Manager – Business Operations to oversee sales, purchase, credit control, and stock management. The candidate will be responsible for managing daily business operations, leading the team, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly sales targets across counter sales, field sales, and telecalling.
• Lead and manage the sales team, including beat plans, daily visits, and enquiry\-to\-order conversion.
• Monitor outstanding payments, conduct ageing reviews, and manage credit control and recovery.
• Approve quotation discounts within the authorised limits.
• Plan purchases, stock levels, brand schemes, credit terms, claims, and rebates.
• Manage relationships with brands such as Havells, L\&T, Mescab, and others.
• Coordinate warehouse stock levels, slow\-moving inventory, and dead stock liquidation.
• Develop new business segments, including contractors, builders, industries, tea gardens, and government clients.
• Prepare daily and weekly MIS reports on sales, margins, collections, stock, and pending quotations for the proprietor.

Requirements

• Graduate in any discipline.
• 8–15 years of experience in electrical or building material distribution, including at least 3 years of team management experience.
• Experience in an electrical distributor/dealer or brand channel sales.
• Strong knowledge of switchgear, wires and cables, lighting, panels, and earthing products.
• Experience in credit control, payment recovery, and outstanding management.
• Fluency in Hindi and Bengali.
• Proficiency in Excel, Tally, and WhatsApp.
• Own vehicle required.
• Must be based in Siliguri or willing to relocate.
• North Bengal market knowledge is preferred.
