Urbanite Luggage Pvt. Ltd. is a bags and luggage manufacturing company based in Nashik, Maharashtra. We manufacture duffle trolley bags, upright soft luggage, rolling totes, backpacks, handbags, and other soft luggage products for leading Indian brands.
We are looking for a strong and practical operations leader who can manage daily factory operations, improve production discipline, handle manpower, coordinate with departments, and help build a more system\-driven manufacturing setup.
The General Manager – Factory Operations / Business Operations Head will be responsible for managing day\-to\-day factory operations including production, HR coordination, purchase follow\-up, store coordination, quality control, dispatch planning, and local sales support.
The candidate should be able to independently manage supervisors, workers, department heads, and daily operational challenges. This role requires strong floor control, execution ability, discipline, and practical problem\-solving.
- *\- Production Management**
- Manage daily production planning and execution across departments.
- Monitor daily target vs actual production.
- Monitor daily target vs actual production.
- Coordinate with cutting, stitching, assembly, packing, quality, store, and dispatch teams.
- Improve production efficiency and reduce delays.
- Identify bottlenecks and take corrective action.
- Ensure timely completion of buyer orders and dispatch plans.
- *\- Manpower \& HR Coordination**
- Monitor daily attendance, absenteeism, and manpower availability.
- Coordinate with HR for hiring operators, helpers, supervisors, and staff as required.
- Maintain discipline among workers and supervisors.
- Handle worker\-related issues practically and professionally.
- Support training and skill development of operators and helpers.
- *\- Purchase \& Raw Material Coordination**
- Coordinate with the purchase and store team for raw material availability.
- Follow up on pending raw materials required for production.
- Ensure production is not stopped due to material shortage.
- Monitor critical RM status and escalate delays on time.
- Support better planning between purchase, store, and production teams.
- *\- Quality \& Rejection Control**
- Work with the quality team to reduce rework, rejection, and production defects.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained at every stage.
- Track recurring quality issues and implement preventive actions.
- Ensure supervisors and operators follow approved samples and specifications.
- *\- Store, Dispatch \& Coordination**
- Coordinate with store for stock availability, kitting, and material issue.
- Ensure proper flow of material from store to production.
- Coordinate with packing and dispatch teams for timely order completion.
- Maintain proper communication between all departments.
- Maintain daily production, manpower, RM shortage, rejection, and dispatch reports.
- Conduct daily review meetings with department heads and supervisors.
- Share daily operational updates with the Director.
- Use Excel / Google Sheets for reporting and tracking.
- *Required Candidate Profile**
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Experience in labour\-intensive industries is preferred.
- Preferred industries: garments, bags, luggage, leather goods, footwear, textile, upholstery, seat covers, or similar manufacturing industries.
- Should have handled 100\+ workers directly or indirectly.
- Strong experience in production planning and manpower handling.
- Good knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets.
- Ability to control supervisors and shopfloor teams.
- Strong follow\-up and execution skills.
- Practical, disciplined, and result\-oriented mindset.
- Should be comfortable working in a fast\-moving manufacturing environment.

The candidate will report directly to the Director and will be responsible for coordinating with Production, HR, Purchase, Store, Quality, Packing, Dispatch, and Sales teams.
