We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer – GitHub Platform Modernization to support enterprise\-wide GitHub transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in enabling, governing, securing, and optimizing GitHub Enterprise platforms while driving DevSecOps adoption, automation, and AI\-assisted engineering practices.

The role requires strong expertise in GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC), GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), Azure DevOps, Python automation, and cloud\-native DevSecOps practices. Candidates should have experience supporting large\-scale developer platforms, repository governance, CI/CD modernization, and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

GitHub Platform Enablement \& Modernization

Perform GitHub platform assessments and capability reviews.

Evaluate and recommend new GitHub features, tooling, and platform enhancements.

Support onboarding of development teams onto GitHub Enterprise Cloud.

Drive platform adoption, standardization, and engineering best practices.

Create and maintain implementation roadmaps and onboarding documentation.

GitHub Governance \& Platform Controls

Manage GitHub organizations, repositories, teams, and permissions.

Implement repository governance, branch protection policies, and ownership alignment.

Support Enterprise Managed Users (EMU) and identity governance initiatives.

Define and enforce GitHub operating models, standards, and compliance controls.

Work with stakeholders to establish governance frameworks and platform best practices.

Security, Compliance \& Resilience

Implement and manage GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) capabilities.

Drive repository security improvements including

Code scanning

Secret scanning

Dependency scanning

Security policy enforcement

Support token governance and repository attestation initiatives.

Conduct disaster recovery, backup, and resilience assessments.

Collaborate with security teams to address compliance and audit requirements.

Platform Operations \& Support

Provide GitHub platform operational support and maintenance.

Troubleshoot platform, repository, and workflow\-related issues.

Manage incidents, service requests, and enhancement requests.

Maintain operational runbooks, architecture documentation, and knowledge articles.

Support end users and engineering teams through platform adoption and issue resolution.

Automation \& DevSecOps

Design and implement reusable CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.

Develop automation solutions using Python, REST APIs, and scripting technologies.

Build integrations between GitHub, Azure DevOps, Azure services, and enterprise systems.

Automate operational processes to enhance platform efficiency and developer productivity.

Implement DevSecOps controls throughout the CI/CD lifecycle.

AI\-Augmented Engineering

Utilize GitHub Copilot and AI\-assisted development practices.

Evaluate AI\-driven engineering tools and agentic workflows.

Build automation solutions that leverage AI capabilities for productivity and operational excellence.

Drive innovation through modern software engineering and automation practices.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working in enterprise\-scale GitHub environments.
