Role Overview
The GPR Survey Engineer will be responsible for conducting subsurface investigations using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology. The role involves collecting and interpreting geophysical data, preparing survey documentation, and supporting engineering teams with essential subsurface insights for safe and efficient project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in GPR operations, data analysis, and field coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct GPR surveys for subsurface utility detection, pavement analysis, geotechnical investigations, and structural assessments.
- Operate GPR instruments and related geophysical equipment with precision.
- Collect, process, and interpret radar data to identify underground utilities, voids, pipelines, and structural features.
- Prepare survey reports, subsurface maps, and technical documentation using CAD/GIS tools.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to integrate GPR findings into project planning and execution.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GPR instruments.
- Maintain accurate field logs, daily reports, and measurement records.
- Support advanced data processing tasks using specialized GPR software.
Required Skills \& Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Geophysics, or related discipline.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in GPR surveys or subsurface investigations (freshers may apply).
- Proficiency in operating GPR instruments and geophysical survey tools.
- Strong knowledge of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) principles and geophysical data interpretation.
- Good skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, or GPR data processing tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and site plans.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work in varied field conditions across Mumbai.
- Readiness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities, metro, road, pipeline, or building projects in the Mumbai region.
- Knowledge of advanced GPR applications, LiDAR integration, or 3D subsurface modeling (added advantage).
